Who's having more fun than Rex?
I don't know about you, but I love watching Rex Ryan coach.
Did you catch his sideline act during the Jets 17-14 upset of the Chargers yesterday? The Jets coach -- and former Ravens defensive coordinator -- was his usual exuberant self, breaking out in a radiant smile and pumping his fist whenever his team got a first down, pounding his players on their helmets and shoulder pads and yelling "Now that's football!" whenever they made a big play.
No wonder the guy was so beloved by the Ravens -- he radiates enthusiasm for the game and for his team.
NFL coaches, as we all know too well, tend to be a humorless lot. Their default expression during a big game tends to range from a scowl to an irritated sneer -- that is, when they deign to show any emotion at all.
But not Rex Ryan. He's a joy to watch. I'm pulling for his team in next week's AFC championship game against the Colts. The game needs him to stick around this season for as long as possible.

anyone else feel that we may have missed the boat when it came to selecting our new HC after Billick left?

Man, there has to be a lot of NFL teams kicking themselves for passing on hiring Rex as their head coach. I am really glad to see all his success. He is a class act and going to be one of the best coaches in the NFL!

The difference between the Jets and us is Jim Leonard. That was a great gift Bisciotti gave Rex as a good-bye gesture. The Ravens win 2 or 3 more games with Leonard. He gets it done at the right time game after game, play-off after play-off. As far as Rex goes, good for him. He's had a great 1st season. He won't beat the Kolts, but I am rooting for him. We will see if Rex can figure how to put points on the board against the Kolts. God know we couldn't.

Leonard is a good player, but to say a safety is going to win a team 2-3 more games is nonsense...

As long as Rex doesn't get a football player like Randy Moss who can wipe the smile right off your face he will do great. The Jets have young and enthusiastic players. He is like Dick Vermeil...but you'll never see Rex cry.

Love Rex but let's face it the Jets are the luckiest team to make the playoffs in a long time. They backed into the playoffs based on the good fortune of playing the Colts and Bengals the last 2 games of the season. Had those 2 games been scheduled in September or October the Jets more than likely would be watching the playoffs on TV. The Jets get into the playoffs and have 2 of the better kickers, Graham and Keading do a choke job on 4 makeable field goals. Rex is definitely living right. The way his luck has been lately I should ask him to buy me a few Powerball tickets.

Rex was an embarrassment out there, running onto the field and having a hissy fit. He should have gotten a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
