The Other Mr. November
The Evil Empire still stands poised to conquer all of baseball. But when one brave Rebel starship commander fights back . . .
How 'bout that Chase Utley? The Phillies All-Star second baseman hit two more homers last night in an 8-6 win to pull Philadelphia within a victory of tying the World Series. The guy has the most relaxed swing in baseball. His three-run shot in the first off Yankees starter A.J. Burnett in the first inning looked effortless. And his solo shot off Phil Coke is still orbiting somewhere over Citizens Bank Park.
That's five homers in five games, tying the great Reggie Jackson for the most in Series history. The New York media has tagged Alex Rodriguez as Mr. November. And deservedly so, with 18 RBI in the post-season so far.
But now there's another Mr. November: Chase Utley. And who knows? If he keeps it up, the Evil Empire might be foiled after all . . .

Just wannt say that Derek Jeter was tagged as Mr. November after the 2001 world series where he hit the first ever post season home run in November. I realize this is the first world series regularly scheduled to go into November but that world series was great including that the Yankees lost.
