Predict Brian Matusz's debut pitching line

Prediction Tuesday doesn’t have much of a ring to it.
But hey, I didn’t decide when to call up Brian Matusz. We’ve got to deal with what the Orioles give us.
Matusz, the club’s top pick last year, will be making his big-league debut Tuesday night in Detroit.
I have a good feeling about this one. At least for Matusz.
I’m not sure the Orioles will beat veteran Jarrod Washburn, who is making his own debut. This will be his first game with the Tigers after spending the last three-plus years with the Seattle Mariners.
I say Matusz leaves with a 2-1 lead in the seventh. And the Orioles’ beleaguered bullpen turns it into a no decision. (Has anyone noticed I haven’t written about the Orioles bullpen in the past two months without using the word beleaguered? I need a fresher adjective).
OK, it’s Prediction Tuesday time. Here’s my thought on Matusz’s pitching line:
6 2/3 IP, 4H, 1ER, 1BB, 5Ks. A no decision.
What’s your call?
Daily Think Special: Predict Brian Matusz’s line Tuesday night.

5 innings 4 runs and gets the loss,
Pitches bad enough where idiot Oriole Fans will call him a bust like they are with Tillman and Wieters

I think Matusz will be an excellent pitcher, but, with the way the Os are going, I'm going to be pessimistic about his debut and say:
IN 2.2
ER 5
H 5
BB 3
SO 1
L
I hope I'm wrong.
Posted by: The Big E | August 4, 2009 6:33 AM
6 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 Ks, L
A quality start in numbers only but the team loses the game because Washburn shuts us down like when he threw that one-hitter against us on July 6th.

Prediction Tuesday? I thought you'd have us predicting how the Mora Saga ends. And the bonus special: another adjective for the bullpen. How about "wrung out"?
7 IP, 5 H, 1 BB, 4 K, 2 R, 2 ER, W. O's win 3-2, JJ gets his first save as the official closer. Wieters goes yard. MelMo doesn't complain about anything. Orioles fans are giddy with excitement for a day.

5 1/3 IP, 7H, 5ER, 3BB, 2Ks.

5.2 innings, 3 ER, 6 hits, 1 BB, 3 K's, No Decision
Solid Start but the Bullpen will be too drained for the Os to get the win.

Dan, please tell me it gets better starting tonight? Please?
5 2/3 IP
5 K

O's win 6-3....matusz gets the W.

5 or 6 IP, 4H, 0R. Trembley will take him out around the 100 pitch mark. Then the bullpen will do its thing and lose the game. (Why can't we get rid of Baez???)

6.1 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 4 Ks, leaves game with team up 4-2, where our bullpen blows the lead.

Wow John Wieters has not been labled a bust and that was Tillmans 2nd! major league game.
I say 6 Inning 5 hits 2 runs 3 strikouts two walks

9IP, O Hits, 27K's; O's lose in the 10th inning after Melvin Mora, brought in as a defensive replacement, makes three errors to load the bases, then Cabrera hits a grand slam off Jim Johnson. Post game comments by Mora claim that Trembley was shining a pocket mirror in his face causing the three errors. Says it is proof of no respect.

I watched him in Bowie just a month or 2 ago. He was impressive but unless he has made drastic improvement in the past month, I don't think he is quite ready for the big show yet. I predict:
5.0 IP 5 ER 8 H 2 BB 3 SO 1 L
I hope I am wrong though and he dominates.

When Tillman came up I knew he was going to eventually be great but take some lumps to start but for some reason I have a strong feeling about Matusz and I know you all will call me crazy but I have a vision of Lincecum and Hamels running through the brain when I think of Brian's potential.

IP: 6 2/3
R: 3
ER: 2
H: 7
BB: 2
K: 3
He seemed very confident when last we saw him in an Orioles uniform in Florida, so I say that continues.

Matusz goes 7 innings and gives up 2 runs. 7inn 8hits 2er 2walks 4ks.
Melvin Mora is back in the lineup and hits 4 homers. Orioles are so excited they pick up Melvin's option for next year and then signs to another multi-year contract. In the offseason they trade Tillman and Matusz to the Royals for Chen and Ponson. ;-)

The Orioles get to Washburn and score 4 runs off of him. Remember, this is the third time the O's face him this season. Third time's the charm. Something has got to give.

does not matter!!!he should be left in Norfolk. Bring him up in Sept. Playing with him will backfire like Tillman. We are not going to win this year or next year. The club is not hitting when they need to. However, 5 IP, 4 runs, 3 KO, 4 walks, 8 hits, gets a loss. GO O's
