Free Steve McNair

He is. In case all you have seen is the Associated Press story, here's a staff-written account from the Nashville Tennessean (which doesn't add much, but still).

Note to the Ravens: ready, set, GO!

Hurry up! You and the Titans. For all we know, Steve might be headed for the workout facilities right now, as we speak. Am I wrong? Don't the Titans have to make a move with him immediately? If another team sneaks in and makes a bid on him, it ain't gonna be pleasant at the Castle. Not that there's much chance of that happening, but why take that chance?

Finish this off. This is almost as bad as the Barry 715 Watch and the Roger Cash-Grab Watch.

Gee, aren't the Ravens lucky to have you around to advise them. McNair will be here ASAP, without your help. Get a clue...

Baltimore journalism at its finest. . .

The facts, Steve Mcnair will be a Raven...Fact #1 ...the Titans will not allow him to work out because they will fear he will have insight into the new offense Norm Chow is putting into the playbook....Fact #2 ..He will not be a tutor to Vince Young because the kid will be competition for his job and we all know that Steve is not going to help him because he knows that he will be basically tutoring his replacement....Fact #3 ...The Ravens have offered Steve money for 1 year that the Titans have offered for 3 and no matter what loyalty they percieve Steve owes them this will be challenged by the fact that Baltimore is offering a starting job and Tennesee alienated a quarterback that led them to a Superbowl, won numerous big games, was a NFL MVP, and has been a warrior for them through the good times and the bad. His loyalty to the team should be unquestioned but because of $$$$ they treat him like an outcast. The man is worth what they will pay their entire draft class. I know that if they really wanted him they would do what they must to keep him but they put $$$$ ahead of loyalty and production. The Titan's loss will be the Ravens gain. We went through the same situation with Ray Lawis but we didn't handle the situation simularly. Ozzie was patient because he let Ray vent and he went out an got what would help his Superbowl MVP and multiple player of the year wanted....a solid lineman...Teams should show more loyalty to the players that have given them the chance to succeed and the Titans have failed in this miserably. They have severed their ties with a player that has dedicated his body and soul to help them win and now this player will come to Baltimore with with a new motivation and purpose. I for one will welcome Steve with open arms beacause I truely believe he will help us reach the next level. We have never had a Quarterback of his caliber here and I thing with our defense and our weapons on offense he will be the key to our resurgence. He has 2 or 3 good years remaining so enjoy him now. One maybe two Superbowls are within our grasps....Remember 2001...remember the joy....Remember the feeling of accomplishment....We will soon have a Quarterback capable of taking us to the next level....and maybe , just maybe , it will buy us time for the future and in a perfect world it will buy Kyle enough time to develope into a quality Quarterback....Loyaly is important....Never forget that...The Titans haven't shown this but think....If in 2 or 3 years we have won 1 or 2 Superbowl...Steve is retired, Ray retired, Ogden retired, and a quarterback from California leads us to an improbable Superbowl after 6 or 7 years of service, remember 1 thing. It all began with Steve McNair....never lose faith....GOOOO RAVENS

superbowl with Steve

superbowl here we come
