Romero pitches around Markakis to get to Jones and Vlad. This is just sad.
No more articles on what Vlad means to the O's. I know what he means. 6 homers, 25 rbi s, and a bunch of double plays and pop outs. Vlad was once a fearsome hitter. He's done. He should thank the Orioles on his way out the door.
Ask Derek Lee how this Oriole gig is working out for him...

Does anyone honestly know how this team is going to get any better?
They need a third baseman, a second baseman, a first baseman, a left fielder, and a DH. Not to mention a starter or 2.
What would you do?

Funny how Guerrero had 29 homers last season and this year he's on pace for about 14. I guess that's what happens when you get older or you sign with the Orioles. This team will never win a game in Toronto.

Well, bringing in all these power right-handed bats to combat those pesky lefties hasn't exactly worked out now, has it?
Here's the kind of stuff that AM has to answer for but never will: So Andy, you mean to tell me that after 4 years running this operation, you don't have a first baseman at AAA or AA that can hit 235 and hit 12 homers, and you spent 10 million dollars to get 12 homers and 235? It seems as though your low risk gambles are costing me a fair chunk of change(10% of my payroll) and I get so little in return. Do you know what you're doing?

The task is truly daunting. There is no future with most of these present players. Like Jim66 says, a hole at 1st, a clank at third, no second baseman or left fielder. BRob, Guthrie, Scott and Vlad are done and it's only June. The young starers? Come on! Gonzo? Rapada? Nothing to trade with. Good luck A.M. I know I wouldn't by a ticket to watch this on a regular basis.

Jim, jim, jim...
The team will never get any better as long as Andy and his nepostic nephew are making the decisions. We have been having the same converastions since he was hired to cover PA's sorry butt.
This season is toast, and unless PA decides to change the paradigm, next year is toast. And the year after and so fourth and so on. We both will be dead before the Orioles climb out of last place due to realignment.
Rosy outlook, huh?

It's amazing that the Orioles are just 5 games under 500. That's the good news.
I do believe we are doing a relatively good job with drafting and developing the young pitching arms. With that said, are the O's flunking the everyday player evaluations both in free agency and in the draft?
Put the opposing team's 1 -3 pitchers on the mound and we have no chance with this anemic offense.
Hey, Andy McPhail show me the beef.
