Ravens: Defense holds

Hate to blow my own horn, but I was one of the few people saying the Ravens defense would come up big today. I realize the Saints scored 24 points, but when it counted, the Ravens stuffed the Saints deep in their own territory a couple of times. It was a big win at a time when the Ravens needed one, and it was the 60-minute performance everyone -- at least around here -- wanted to see.

We were can you believe unpredictable & NO 3 man rush.... wonderful!!! T

I thought the offense played well, except for stalling in the Red Zone (ho-hum).

And why do they always seem to let up in the third quarter?

The defense also played well, but another 90+ yard drive is hard to take.

Meaningful games.... exciting sports in Baltimore....

The Ravens are simply the complete opposite of the O's. They don't lie to their fans and they always do their best to put the best product they can on the field.

During the last decade, and especially now....can anyone truly imagine what sports in this town would be like without the Ravens?

Great, great win!

Who lied to you Wayne?

Hey wayne,

You can talk all you want about the Orioles. You can talk all you want about the Sun. You can tell all us dumdums about how you know better when it comes to all things sports, we're getting played, holler Pete Pete Pete write this write that, all of your bullcrap.

It is meaningless. Do you understand why?

Because you are a season ticket holder of Baltimore Orioles tickets.

Because you post multiple times daily on a Baltimore Sun blog.

All of your bluster, all of your know-it-all vomit....it has no leg to stand on. If you want to even begin to be taken seriously and not viewed as a hypocritical phony, don't renew your tickets. Don't post on the Sun every day.

You can make your typical excuses, i.e. friendship with other ticket holders. But they will be is just that. Excuses. Bluster. Hypocrisy. In the end, in reality, when you get right down to it,
you
are
a
PHONY.

Talk to you soon!

See you at the game!

Gee, Thanks dumdum....

Ah, nothing like being out in the cold during meaningful football game.

There's also nothing like being out at the park on a warm summer evening. The team may always stink and the organization may lie through their azz, but ahhh, how nice it is to be out at the park.

PA and AM can take away many things from Baltimore fans. They can't take that away though.

And yes.... see you at the game

Figured I'd drop by and see how you IDIOT Orioles fans are doing. Of course, talking about the same old shit.

Wayne never ceases to amaze me, talking his normal trash and keeps on coming back. WHAT A MORON! I guess you have it SOOOO figured out.

NB, you genious. Your stats don't amount to anyrthing and this team still sucks. Reynolds is the next Tony Batista, you know as well as I do. So just drop it.

Dave in Glen-hickville is NB-lite. You still post here, you insignificant moron?? Your posts are so irrelevant, you're probably an alcoholic like the rest of those inbreds living in the south Baltimore area.

This "team" is on the pace for another sub .500 season. Oh yea, but anything above 70 wins is considered a success - Right? Morons. Your team deserves to be where it's at. And your mentally and expectations proves it.

@Jason C

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your opinions.

Just an FYI...The word you are looking for is mentality not mentally.

If you are going to crap over everyone you might want to use the right words or you might sound mentally retard.

*retarded

In your article on 1B options you mention Josh Bell...
Come on Pete.

Don't fret for Fridge.... he walked away with a cool $2M.

Elrod's passing was 5 years ago today right? As I heard it, he went with a big smile on his face in that airport hotel room too. Every guy should check out that way...

About Peter Schmuck
Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.
