MCW: Eck's split decision

Now that I've had time to digest Kevin Eck's latest Ring Posts video, I thought it was high time for a little accuracy in media. The six-man tag team match featuring Kevin and I is still on for July 31 at The New Green Room in Dundalk, but I'm starting to wonder who Kevin will dress up as for the evening. I can only hope it's not Mickie James, though what he does in the privacy of his own home is certainly his own business. I hope you enjoy the accompanying video, because I think it will set the record straight.

You are both idiots, and I mean that in a good way.

Pete, did you read the article on the O's indider that says Angelos does not understand paying big money for high ceiling young Latin free agents. Gee, I wonder why this long time O's fan has just about lost all hope.

Pete,

Is that a CRT monitor back there? Oh my! I'm surprised you do as good of a job as you do with ancient technology. What does computer run Pentium I?

I agree with with the first guy, except that it should be "Kevin and me". Shame on you - and your editor. (Is there an editor for blogs?)

As for the second note, I can't believe that story. Only a stupid person would say something like that, and if there's one thing Peter the Arrogant is not it's stupid. That would be like telling Lydell Mitchell he's the "highest paid black on the team", and we know nobody's that stupid.

I was grilling outside & looked in the window to see Wigginton going wiggy on the Ump last night. I saw the replay? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? That wasn't even close! If he used the excuse that he missed the tag, I would refer to the often times "nieghborhood call" utilized at 2B so much. It could easily apply on that play too. ball beat him there... etc.
That call was an insult & that clown is the Crew Chief! I really like Wigginton more & more, they guy goes nuts even though the time is asleep, losing 4-0 late in the game , & he is probably going to be dealt in a salary dump...yet he STILL cares that much! The O's need more guys like him, NOT mid 20 yr old minor leaguers as they will get for him!!
GOOD for Samuel too, I saw that one the same way as I was flipping the food! He looked steamed over the Wigginton thing anyway, it was time. Samuel can finish the year out & I won't complain....

You've got huge heel potential, I have to say.

As a lifelong Dundalk resident I can't wait to see Kevin lay the smackdown on you... You're going down!

Bart from Dundalk

An epic tirade by Wigginton, Roberts activited and we get...wrestling?

Stop living up to your name, Schmuckster :P

..............................................................................................
Pete's reply: No, Chris, you got coverage of every bit of that from our baseball beat guys. I wasn't there last night and I had to write my Saturday column early. The wrestling video was made earlier and put up last night. And, anyway, what's wrong with a little off-the-wall fun on a blog. It's not like you're watching a pennant race.

I'll also say if it comes down to Moore vs Lugo, keep Lugo. Having just one guy to play SS that is a banjo hitter isn't wise. Moore will get little time, right now, if Roberts is back. He's better served going to AAA to play everyday until he is brought back....in 2 weeks or Sept.

Are you going to get tested for ROIDS, BROTHER!!!

After the game, Darling looked at video and acknowledged that he missed the call — though he said Wigginton tagged only one hand.

Now you have to tag the guy twice to get the call???
If they have the nerve to suspend Wigginton for the inadvertent bump of bellies , that will be very lame. If this moron Ump could get a call right in front of him right, there would have been no issue.

Boycott MCW and the Shamrock Memorial Event.

The man was shot and killed by police while beating his wife. He is not worthy of a memorial tournament in his "honor."

Boycott the event for the sake of your wives, sisters and daughters. Men who abuse their wives should not be celebrated.

Just giving you a hard time, Pete (hence the ":P").

I didn't see Wayne or anyone around, so thought you might feel excluded :)

I saw Eck's video. The man has way too much time on his hands. Note to Eck: My grandmother can impersonate those guys better than you can. She does a mean Hulkster.

dumb.

I normally wouldn't respond to Brian's comments, but the dude pisses me off. Who the hell are you to call Gary Darling a moronic umpire? The man has 23 years experience as a MLB umpire and has served as a crew chief since '04. If you watch the replay and I have many times, he's absolutely right! Wigginton missed the tag on the right hand and then tagged him on the left hand. If he was a competent 1st baseman, he would have put the glove down and then lifted it. That's what a good fielder does to help sell a call! Darling did acknowledge afterward that he kicked the call. What more do you want?
As for the "inadvertent contact" as you called it, he deserves to get suspended. Any physicality cannot be tolerated, regardless of what it was.

I wonder if you in your work experience were to be critiqued and scrutinized as much as MLB umpires, would you be hired for 23 consecutive years? The only thing moronic about this is you! Keep flippin' burgers moron.

This is why you are my favorite person! This is why I can wear my t-shirt with pride :-) GOOooo SCHMUCKER!!

i'm reading this after the fact, but i think both of kevin ecks multiple personalities are female. :)

About Peter Schmuck
Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.
