New kid on the block
Since it is Mother's Day weekend, we decided to add a new member to the Schmuck brood, which should explain why there were precious few blog entries up over the course of yesterday's Orioles doubleheader.
The family had to travel to the Philadelphia suburbs to pick up Bogart, who -- I'm sure you'll agree -- is almost as cute as me.
It has been eight months since the passing of our first dalmation, which lived to the ripe old age of 16 years. We didn't originally plan to get another firehouse pup, but happened upon this little fellow and, obviously, couldn't resist. Slept through most of his first night with us, which is more than I could say for the kids.

Michael Vick..... you're not!
Great piece.... Helps us to forget about the O's, at least for a day....

Pete's reply: Wayne, apparently, you are the only person left reading the blog.

Dog or no dog, the O's are LAST in wins, FIRST in Profits. AM runs the O's like a 2nd rate puppy mill!!!! Be careful, greedy PA may snatch your dog to turn it into a coat!!!
Neat dog. My secret to keeping dogs quiet at night is getting two.

Pete's reply: That didn't work with the kids.

Cute dog, but you and I should both opt for vertical stripes rather than spots.
.............................................................................................
Pete's reply: Hard to argue with that.

Wayne's always here to tell us how bad we are. Thanks wayne! Genius I tell You.

Cute pup Peter, I've heard nothing but good things about dalmations. I wanted one when I was a kid, and have always liked dogs, but have never owned one. I hope he spends a long happy life with you.

Train him to bring you a Bud Pete!

Bet he can't find a fireman in the O's bullpen.

Best way to keep puppy from whining all nite is to let em sleep with you. U can gradually put them in the kennel right next to you. Voila, puppy and sleep compatibility

Nice doggy, Pete.
Anyway, I still look at the Blog on occassion--I miss Sportsline with Schmuck.

Damn you Pete! My dalmation just died at age 13 and I have to look at that cute pup.

I know he's highly touted and all, but until he proves he's a real 5 tool dog at a major league firehouse, he's nothing but a prospect to me...

Dalmatians (note the spelling) are great dogs. I had one for 15 years, and will adopt another (or two) some day.
They need lots of walking (not just a fenced yard) and I mean on a daily basis -- rain, snow or shine, 90 degrees or 10 degrees. They are loyal to a fault, and have excellent memories. I highly suggest some level of obedience training (which I would for all dogs and owners but Dals even more so).
And they are shedders to the n-th degree.
They get a bad rep because too often they are teamed with the wrong owners. Although they love to go outside, they are much more an indoor dog than an outdoor dog because they want to be close to the action (their master). And being left alone in a house or apartment by themselves 9-to-5 aren't in their (or your) best interest.
Crikey, I just reread your entire blog. I see this isn't your first Dal. You probably know all I have told you.
In honor of Topspin (1990-2005), good luck.

A very cute puppy and undalatily and IQ of 150 over what ever tha Schmuck would register on the Wonderlik test. Go hide in the neighbor's yard and do not dig your normal holes in which you will hide. Knowledge you do not have, comedy is NEVER your fortie and logic you left under the kitchen table. That is your dinning area!

We can all hope the eejits at the Sun don't come with a lame idea of selling schmuck dog tee shirts.

Pete- congrats on your new dog , he looks friendly .
On another note , at 9-23 , has the O's season "gone to the dogs" ?

I'm not pretending to be anything. I couldn't care less about typos, spelling or grammar. However, I would think anyone who has a Dalmatian -- especially someone who was also an English major -- might like to spell it correctly.
If Pete was offended by taken my well-meaning post, I apologize. Everyone else, you can take me as wrongly as you want -- adjectively speaking, of course.

why would you put a mangy, decrepit, foul breed like a dalmation on the front of the article? You are nothing but a damn Schmuck!
I love Huskies baby...
Posted by: savannah "husky baby lover" pervert | May 11, 2010 11:54 AM
Although Dalmatians are prolific shedders, they are a very clean breed of canine.
I have nothing against Huskies but if you have one in Savannah, GA, you are not a very good owner/master.

We'll need Koji to translate. Does he know English?

You have excellent taste in dogs, as the proud mom of a dalmatian "fur baby" and currently fostering another. Pongo is my 7th dalmatian from Dalmatian Rescue of Colorado. I seem to be magnetically drawn to underdogs, which must be why I used to be an Angels fan and now the Orioles. BTW dalmatians "smile" for string cheese :)
