Twins lineup

The Orioles will see a big chunk of the Minnesota Twins regular lineup tonight, which should provide an interesting test for O's starter Kevin Millwood. Here it is:

Denard Span CF
Orlando Hudson 2B
Joe Mauer C
Justin Morneau 1B
Michael Cuddyer RF
Jason Kubel DH
Delmon Young LF
J.J. Hardy SS
Nick Punto 3B

Scott Baker RHP

Here's hoping Millwood shuts 'em down. I know that especially this early in the process wins and losses mean very little, but I sure would like to see the O's string a few W's together.

That is, essentially, the Opening Day lineup of a contender.

This will be a real test for Millwood. If he gets torched tonight like he did in his first start, I might be more than a little worried.

nb, my thoughts exactly. (fingers crossed)

Hopefully, MacPhail will pick up some minor league depth.

Guess I'm going to listen to the game since there's no t.v. there.
And boy oh boy, is this audio GREAT!

Ooooooh! Oooooooh! Ooooooh!

TIM BYRDAK!

Alohameister-

That'd be a good one. He's had back-to-back soild seasons. I don't know enough about the Astros' intentions i.e. youth movement or hot prospects, but reliable lefties are golden, so they'll probably keep him. It would be nice though...

not brooks-

Time to start getting more than a little worried.

About Peter Schmuck
Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.
