Millwood's second start
Kevin Millwood gave up a run on two hits in the first inning of his second exhibition start, but you'd have to consider that progress. He got hammered for six runs on seven hits and got just two outs in his competitive debut as an Oriole.
This time, he gave up a sharp leadoff single to Denard Span, struck out Orlando Hudson and allowed a run-scoring hit to 2009 American League MVP Joe Mauer, but got out of the inning quickly when Justin Morneau swung at the first pitch he saw and grounded into a double play.
Millwood threw 14 pitches in the inning, nine of them strikes.

Good Lord, this mlb.com audio is horrible. It sounds like someone recorded the audio to cassette on a 1985 boom box, and is playing it back full blast into the brodcast microphone.
But alas, people 500 miles away that beg shouldn't be so doggone choosy.

So Denard Span hit a double and then struck out? Was it a redo? Is this part of what Selig's decision commitee has come up with? Are there 2 Denard Span's?

Pete's reply: No, people make mistakes. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Denard Span is just such a great name you want to write it twice -- even if you're inaccurate.
Just having some fun with you, Pete. Everyone is allowed one misteak every 1,000 year.

Anyone can mistake the O-Dog for Span.

Its those silly Spring Training Rules, so the managers get a good look at players, they let do these things. Span should have quit while he was ahead! :)
