Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in
The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.

Too bad that we won't be able to see much of the Orioles in Spring Training since MASN is only carrying 4 games. I emailed the Orioles PR department three times to ask why so few games are on TV and got the same reply everybody gets when you ask the Warehouse a tough question....Silence.
Pete, if you get a chance, would you ask that question for me? Maybe they will respond to you. With all of the outstanding young talent in camp it would seem to me a slam dunk decision to give the fans a good look and stoke up interest.

I agree with the last writer. Why develop a televsion outlet that is worth $440,000,000 and then not use it in the most optimistic spring the Orioles have had in 10 years? I hear the Red Sox have fixed cameras so that the fans can just watch the workouts much less the games. Just shows how poor the O's tend to be in getting their product to the public.

MASN is worth more than the Orioles?!?
I guess that Angelos fellow is even more clever than I thought-to create a television channel to cover a team that is worth more than the team itself!

I think its time we moved this underachiever. What has he done for the team or the city for that matter?
15 million a year for 20 hrs and 90 rbis..please

masn programming is a monstrosity. they would rather show a replay of a div II b-ball game than anything baseball related. YES has been showing yankee classics all wk to get ready for the season and we're getting the espn news feed.
hey masn, i got espn news, its channel 207

If you want to be a good wayne impostor, then get your shct tight. The real wayne doesn't give bogus salary figures, and he doesn't pick on players who actually are productive on the team. Come on man!

you seem to like arguing with your self!!
cmon man

My guess is he finally shaved because he was tired of "something" being withheld from him in protest of him looking like Richard Reid.

I know the Orioles aren't the only team to ban facial hair in some shape, manner or form, but it still seems like a silly holdover from the pre-integration days.
One can argue of its importance. Regardless, it can't be argued that this is Peter Angelos's doing. While the Oriole rule existed for decades after the move from St. Louis, it was lifted by Eli Jacobs when Rick Sutcliffe came to town.

Good for Nick. That Cat Stevens impersonation he had going was shocking to say the least.

Hello All~
My name is Larry Richards. I am the Co-Creator and Supervising Producer of an original television show called "Minor League: The Road to the Show."
My partners and I have been speaking with a couple of folks within the O's minor league organization about our possibly working together. If things go as planned, we'll be meeting with them soon either in Arizona or Sarasota.
From what I read above, it seems like both the O's and MASN in particular can benefit from our show - and we from them, especially the O's and the amazing team they've been grooming.
I've left our url in the contact field however this site has not been updated in a while. So if you'd like to stay tuned with what's going on, I invite you to log in to our Facebook page (search for Minor League The Road to the Show) where you can see some of our videos and stay updated with our progress. While I'd love for you to become fans, what I'd really like to hear is why you think (or don't think) this show would be of interest to you and how you think it can help the fans and the team.
Thank you! I hope to see you and be seen in Sarasota, Frederick Keys, Bowie, Norfolk and Baltimore real soon!
