Ravens: Self destruction 101

It's starting to look like the only team that can stop the Ravens from winning this game is the Ravens. That's two touchdowns negated by penalties that probably would not have had an impact on the outcome of either play. Willis McGahee blew threw that hole on the left side and was more than five yards from where Kelley Washington was clearly holding the jersey of the Pittsburgh defender.

Now, Derrick Mason just dropped a ball in the end zone that was just too easy and Joe Flacco just had to burn another time out because the Ravens got to the line late. This has got a chance to turn into a very discouraging finish -- or am I just being negative?

Distusting...Absolutely Disgusting

**Correction**

Disgusting...Absolutely Disgusting

They're just a stupid team, and it's no better than it was under Billick. The talent is there, the brainpower is not.

Call me when the first pitch is thrown out!

I think they are playing not to win.

at least Ray Rice came to play.

It is so hard to watch the ravens beat themselves. I agree the defense cord. needs to be given a boot you know where. Some of the players need to benched- unrealistic as that is, some of the other players could benefit.

I'm just waiting for the Big Ben kill.

Just lose in Oakland next week so we don't have to watch sorry pathetic, undisciplined, lethargic, overpaid and poorly coached knuckleheads blow once again

I thought we fired billick because we were a undiciplined team This team should be ashamed of themselves to lose this game. They totally outplayed pitts and have nothing to show for it. The play calling in our last drive was absolutely horrible.

Na na na na; na na na na; hey hey, goodbye! *LMAO* Here's a bit of advice for the Ravens front office: Get rid of Frank Walker.

This team knows discipline..... cause they saw it on TV once...

Yes, for God-sakes, lose in Oakland. I just don't see them correcting the mistakes everywhere for the playoffs. They don't deserve the playoffs the way they played today. This has to be the worst game the Raverns have ever played, and hell, they only lost by 3 points!!

Harbaugh needs to take full responsibility for this undisciplined goon football team. I am sure the Kool Aid drinkers will blame the referees for the loss.

Terrible play calling by Cameron once again,as well as Mattison, the usual bad plays by Frank Walker, and we still had a chance but Mattison called a pass play instead of a draw or a screen, and Cousins got eaten up all game.Would have rather seen Chris Chester in there.Mason catches that ball 99 times out of a 100.And Big BEn was out of the pocket scrambling which makes the reciever a blocker, that was a horrible call on the interception at the end of the game.Suggs tripped over a guy who was falling down and got called for a block in the back.I knew the officiating would be lopsided, just not this lopsided.

I do wonder why the refs always seem to bail out the Steelers when they have a brain fart. That last penalty was a terrible call but at that point in the game it was obvious the refs were going to shoot first and ask questions later.

I agree with the concensus --a team deep in native talent, but utterly lacking in discipline. They seem to think that talent can make up for discipline --perhpas in high school or college, but not at this level of playy. The Steelers are mere shadows of their former selves, and still won because they played with a minimum of discipline.

It's time for heads to roll. harbaugh's lack of disciplin with the clock...the lack of discipline on the line and on the defense...The lack of ability to forse a turnover and do anything with the GD ball. I'm tired of excuses. Biscotti can't be happy with this product. Biscotti has to lay it on the line to Harbaugh -- discipline this team in 2010, or you will be three and out.

I don't want to get chippy with you Pete, but I would suggest looking at the Washington hold on the McGahee TD a couple more times and say if you still think that was a clear hold.

From what I saw, Washington had arm extended at the shoulder pads and the defender flung himself around while instantaneously throwing his hands in the air for a flag.

I want to know how the Steelers stay under the salary cap with all of the officials they have on their payroll.

Heap got mugged in the endzone and there is no flag.

Pass rushers for the Ravens are getting tackled at the line of scrimmage; that is holding every single time, no question about it.

The holding call on Washington was insane because the flag was thrown after the TD scored and Washington was not holding the defensive player Pete. His hands were on his pads and that is legal.

The block in the back play by Suggs was a hit from the side and if it was Hines Ward making that block we would have heard all day how he is the best in the league at doing it.

Some of the penalties were legit for sure and the Ravens had their chances to win otherwise, but I am getting sick and tired of seeing games coming down to the officials. Clearly they impacted the outcome of this game.

Steelers fans you can come on here and say I am rose-colored all you want, but you know as well as I do that the officials bailed you out again.

2 critical sacks to Flacco were negated by 2 penalties against Steelers which the refs called and one of them resulted in ravens scoring...still ravens fans just like to bash against refs even in forum which is called Self destruction 101 which supposed to be about Ravens miscues.

Dick Eneberg and CBS crew seem to agreed on all the penalty calls including last play when Big Ben got intercepted.....except for one against Steelers CB which refs did not call when Heap could not catch the ball in end zone but such calls have went either ways for even Steelers. Just Catch the ball in end zone when you are wide open and then there won't be a need to complain.
