It's Flacco time (Part deux)
Well, I wanted to see Joe Flacco win a head-to-head battle with a premier quarterback, and now he's going to get his chance. He'll get the ball with five minutes or so left and needing to get at least a field goal to give the Ravens a chance to win this game and -- I'm pretty sure -- lock up a playoff slot.
Let's see what happens.
Instant update: Oh well. If you run on second and long and don't get any yardage, you put yourself in a box. Twice they've taken themselves out of field goal range with poor execution since getting back into the game. That's how you lose to a good team on the road.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Yours and ours 2009 Baltimore Ravens.
For 2010 I suggest the rallying cry:
"Don't be stupid"

HORRENDOUS play calling by Cameron. Though I give it to the Ravens, they come up with the most ingenious, idiotic and creative ways to lose a game that is practically being given to them at times.

Who doesn't love the Ravens handing the ball off to their third best running back during crunch time?
Surely there is an offensive lineman sitting on his couch that the Ravens can pick up so they actually have a right guard who can block!

OK, two things we witnessed today.
1) The NFL obviously has a defined poiicy with officials that the Steelers will not lose without being stompped beyond what the refs can help with bullsh$# calls. How many times are we going to see this? The Ravens get stiffed weekly with ticky tack calls that cost them games. The Steelers are held up and given 2nd and 3rd chances every week.
2) This is either a horrendously coached team or the lowest IQ team I have ever watched. How many times can we have TD's called back for illegal blocks or holding? JFC!!@!!!!

Did anyone record the game?
If someone did, put it on a DVD and call it "How to Lose a Football Game". You'll make millions.
(Of course, you'll be sued by the NFL and you'll have to give those millions back...)

Harbaugh has proved yet again that he has no concept of time management and also really has no control of this team. It's the same undisciplined thug team it was in the Billick ear. They are a time bomb waiting to explode late in games. .500 is all they really deserve.

No doubt the Ravens need to get an IQ. It is not just the ticky-tack holding calls that are killing them. It is also the inability to complete an offensive series without a delay of game or needing to call a time-out.
And will someone please teach the Ravens how to run a slant to beat the Steelers pass coverage? Oh, maybe they never saw the TD catch Fitzgerald had in last year's Superbowl. Every time the Steelers lined up with no middle coverage the Ravens should have made an adjustment.
And that last flag was an embarrasment to the NFL. Since when can a receiver run straight at the defender, grab his shoulder pads, and then get the penalty called on the defender? Just your everyday weekend adventure in NFL officiating.

I'm so sick of football fans blaming refs for their teams losses.
Get over yourselves. The Ravens beat themselves today, plain and simple. The penalties (especially the pass interference, illegal contact and unnecessary roughness calls) were awful and they consistently gave Roethlisberger waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time to throw.
Sticking with the topic, can we petition the NFL to change a few of the penalty names?
I'd like to see "Unnecessary Roughness" called "Stupid Angry Raven" and "Defensive Pass Interference" should be changed to "Frank Walker".

Congratulations to the Stealers and their zebra friends for taking another game! My question is, what did the city of Baltimore do to the NFL? First they stole Super Bowl lll and gave it to the Jets to legitimize their merger, then they stole our team, then they told us to go build a museum with our stadium money, then the penalize the Ravens every time they get a good play, especially against the Stealers in Pittsburgh. They knew they couldn't steal the game in Baltimore because those refs knew they'd be hanging from lampposts. I say screw the NFL, let's go back to the CFL!
