Waiting for an explanation

We'll wait to see how John Harbaugh explains his decision to call a time out and then waste another one challenging the spot on that third-and-one play. You would expect, in that situation, for the coach to insist on a measurement before making any decision on a timeout or challenge. Instead, Harbaugh lost two timeouts on what was an ill-advised challenge, which probably cost the Ravens 35 seconds at the end of the game.

If ever a game was there for the winning, this was it. YET, as usual, Ravens couldn't get basic plays done at key moments. Terrible play calls at the 1. Another sneak gets it in, but instead we get two slow developing runs to McG where we help the Colts by volunteerily moving the ball back to the 3 to ever START the play. Duh. And why were Joe and Rice on dif pages in that interception. KEY play in game; they pick that one to screw up! Why? Bad coaching,: he's GOT to make them tough on big plays not at their worst. (And, to rub it in, Indy gets late 3d down by 1 inch! Agh!) Finally, I love Ed Reed but the lateral was ridiculous. 17 seconds left; let joe throw it, for ----'s sake, dummy!

Well, from the decision to give Peyton Manning the ball first (the most ridiculous thing I can even think of) to the decision to call a timeout and then challenge with only 1 time out left, wow, bad, bad head coaching. Ed reed returning was the icing on the cake, he should have just gone out of bounds, and how could no one have told him that ahead of time. Run the sideline and go out of bounds. The Ravens defense played their behinds off and unfortunately, Flacco made a mistake that could have cost us the game as well. I know I am overstating the obvious, but at this level of football, it's just unexcusable. Finally, they roll out flacco on a keeper that goes nowhere aroudn the 30, but at the 1, when everyone is packed in the middle, they run three times straight at the pile, instead of a rollout of some kind. Try it on second down anyway, give your team a shot at least. Ugh, I know I am not a coach, or even in the NFL, but c'mon! Well, hopefully next year, we will get this stuff straight. Defense, AWESOME Play.

What was Harbaugh thinking ? Can anyone explain that ?
Flacco got fooled on this last INT by the LB who made some steps forward and then dropped back, I dont think Joe even saw him.
Again our D gave up many yards but stepped up in the redzone and made some plays.
Great Int Ed ! Sometimes its good to have a corner like D. Fox on this roster. That play reminded me on that Int he made against Palmer in October.

he'll use his typical coachspeak to talk his way out of it.

I am starting to thinlk that as long as ozzie is making the draft choices, this team will suffer offensively.

No offensive TD all day. Sad.

Robo-coach will recite his cue card, cliche littered diatribe telling us peons how "we're still in this...one game at a time, we can't look forward too far...these guys have the heart of lions, they are mighty men".

Fire Harbaugh!!
(or at least teach him the rules of the game)

Pathetic!

He blew the timeouts,I get it.I think he just learned something new, there. We lost the game in the kicking dept. and goal line inadequatesies. One timeout was'nt going to save this wacky game from our own mistakes.I would still buy the guy a cold one tonight;give him a little room to grow!

Season's over...fire Harbaugh...Ozzie is blind in one eye...where is the WR we need?...I like Paul Kruger but Mike Wallace was there in the 2nd round(Mike Oher's team mate at Ole Miss, WTG Steelers, nice pick)...Webb is the best all around DB on the team...is he on rationed play system?

wow!!! simply disgusted with the way we have played the last few weeks. Why do throw a pick like that with the game on the line thats inexcusable... And to throw it right at him, when we could have easily ran or thrown to the sideline like Flacco so greatly did today... Our d played good but gave up the big plays yet again, Foxworth has not lived up to what he is capable of and we Reed is great but he is getting age on him. Its time to get a new secondary everyone. All i can say is smash the steelers and dont blow this one again boys!!!

Cam Cameron's play calling was terrible today. Willis hasn't been playing much lately and his timing is probably off. So why wasn't Ray Rice in the back field when the Ravens reached the one or two yard line. Flacco is a second year quarterback who has and will continue to make mistakes. Yesterday he made a bad read on the pass to Rice. Also there was to many passes thrown in Mason's direction. There was no balance. Why doesn't Williams get into the game he has speed. The corners didn't look all that good either. Ed Reed was just trying to make a play. If he had held on to the ball and went down the Ravens would not have won the game.

Harbaugh lost this one, and the Minnesota game too for not brining back Stover. Ravens fans have been so giddy with Harbaugh while lashing out (unfairly) at Brian Billick, the winningist coach in Baltimore football history.

Brian won the Super Bowl in his second year with the team. Harbaugh's gone 2-5 and the Ravens won't even make the post-season now. Brian would've straightened out this slump by now. Harbaugh better correct this ship or he'll be gone.

lets blame it on the kicker. after all he missed a chippy 30 yarder. its never the coaching, lack of a pass rush, a poor secondary or an inability to score TDs. Harbaugh and Cameron
absolutely need to go.

If we're going to play Billick-ball, then it helps to have Matt Stover as field-goal kicker.
