Ravens: We're calling a blog blitz
Sorry for my inactivity earlier today -- had some computer issues which required the combined technical knowledge of me and my son to rectify, which explains why it took all day -- but I'll be making up for it tonight and I'll have a whole bunch of help.
The Schmuck Stops Here will be one of three Baltimore Sun blogs running live throughout tonight's game between the Ravens and Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium. You can get my take on the action, them jump over to Ravens Insider for info from the beat guys and then on to the Toy Department. Then you can do it all over again.
Should be fun, though I'm actually going to miss Ben Roethlisberger. He obviously made the right decision by not playing -- and that should make it easier for the Ravens take a step forward in the AFC wild card race tonight -- but in a rivalry game like this, I want to see both teams close to full strength. Don't you?

Pete, I want to draw attention to your article the other day on how the ball has begun to kind of bounce the Ravens way, and point out today that again, our fate is in our own hands. Jacksonville and Houston were handed a loss, with a win tonight, we're in at the wildcard. We have to get on a roll, but I think we can do it with the schedule the rest of the way. It's just interesting to point out the breaks that we continue to get this season, let's hope we can finally capitalize on one tonight. Go Ravens!

Pete's reply: You're absolutely right, Joe, and it has to start tonight.

To answer your question though, I would rather see both teams at full strength too. The rematch in pittsburgh will be fun because most of these guys will probably be back, but we need this one now to get our ball rolling again.

To answer your question----NO. The object is to win, and however that happens, whatever the circumstances, is just fine with me.
Case in point, when Maryland won the NCAA a few years back, did feel that it was tainted because someone ELSE beat Duke? Not me baby. You gotta play what's in front of you & beat 'em!!!

I think I am spoiled by previous defensive coaches in that I expect the same quality. Whats his name really has a long way to go baesed on the step backwards our defense has taken this year.
