Ravens: Zebra trouble again?

You know, I promised myself I wouldn't mention the officiating this week. I'm tired of it and the Ravens aren't playing well enough for it to be making much difference right now, but I'm just surprised that it continues to be so mediocre.

They eventually got the call right on that incomplete pass that was originally called a fumble, but the Vikings appeared to be way offsides on the next play and there was no flag. The defensive tackle on the left side was in the Ravens backfield before the shotgun snap came into view.

Instant update: And I'm pretty sure the Ravens would have liked to have two flags picked up on the same penalty once in awhile the way the Vikings just did on what looked like a garden variety block in the back. Maybe you people aren't just paranoid.

Hey Pete, I like ya and your writing however, this is the reason so many dislike the Ravens, they and their fans cry about everything, even when they say they won't do it anymore, even when they say the team has played bad there still has to be a mention of some other reason to put the blame on. Every single team and their fans can point out how the officials screwed up but if they were being fair themselves they could point out how an officials' screwup went for their team also.

(Silver Lining)
Hey, you could be a fan off the Browns, Chiefs, Rams, Redskins etc and have the officials constantly screwup in your favor the entire game and still not be able to win.

Pete, you sound like you have "malice in your heart."

Pete i hate to say it but we are a very poor coached team The defense looks like they don't have a clue what they are doing. Also i said it before and i will say it again, ozzie didn't do this team any favors last off season, the free agents we lost and The free agents we acguired don't even come close to being a wash. We lost jason brown , scott, leonard, we acquired birk, who isn't even close to being as good as brown , foxworth, who is terrible, carr who is terrible. LETS JUST CALL IT LIKE IT IS>

Landry doesn't have a clue what he is doing. What a disappointment.Pete you gave this team way to much credit.

Nice Job ,,Walker and Houskia ,, OZZIE your off season SUCKED ,, you have Garbage CB's and kicker the Chokes ,, way to spend your money and make this team WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let Blanchione be the first to call for Harbs head...

Leonard and Scott are average at best (showed a great clip on sunday countdown of Scott getting blocked all over the place on a screen pass and they both got eaten alive vs the Gimmick Wildcat). Jason Brown sure he looks awesome at 7 mil a year in 0-6 STL, while we draft Oher, our next Jonathan Ogden.

i will agree with you that Landry looks lost and Carr is awful, but Foxworth wasn't the problem today and neither was the coaching. When it comes down to it, they are 1.5 out in the North, sucks but not the end of the world. You know, I won't rally my family to dump our season tickets or anything...

this loss was not the refs fault they just played pisspoor

not whining - but another poor performance by an officiating crew. When will the league do something about this growing problem?

He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.
