Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in
The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.

Can you ask Harbaugh if he interested in managing the O's in addition to the Ravens?

Before some people here criticize someone or the Orioles they should at least know the rules. The Orioles did NOT lose an option on Mickolio for sending him down. You only use ONE option per year no matter how many times you bring a player up or send him down.
Mickolio's option was used earlier in the season.

What we have here is clearly a case of the disciple outpacing the teacher. Specifically, I am referring to the quote in Schmuck's header, "Some say it's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt. I disagree." Mr. jj [can't master the caps lock] thomas has far surpassed any level of stupidity ever displayed by the honorable Mr. Peter Schmuck.
Slugger - now that's a good idea.
Pete, I did not catch Coach Harbaugh, and really have not gotten into following the Ravens through training camp (still too much wrapped up with the Orioles; I'll get into football when the weather cools down). What did Coach have to say about how the team looks so far?

Pete's reply: Well, glad you asked. Go to www.WBAL.com and go to my show page and you can listen to the Harbaugh interview.

Living out west , I missed the radio spot but I hope ya found a way to ask him if he thinks we're better than we were last year and more importantly have we progressed enough to be better than Pitsburgh?
Looking at the same secondary, minus McCallister, and the same receivers plus Kelley Washington, my gut UNFORTUNATELY says no. I do not think we're better than 11-5, nor do we stack up better than the team that beat us not once, not twice, BUT THRICE! WE NEED A STUD WR for Flacco to flourish! (sidenote: Terry injury certainly makes Oher pick look even better tho doesn't it). Value = Luck, maybe a golden duck!

Pete , with the 10th pick in the 2005 draft the ravens select Mark Clayton wide receiver from Oklahoma, wait a minute i think he pulled his hamstring coming up on stage. Pete from the very minute he stepped on the field for the ravens he has had the same hamstring injury. With all the off season workouts, personnal trainers and advance medical technigues how can you have the same problem for the last 5 years. I don't care how nice a guy he is if you can't produce then you need to be let go. It's turning out to be a joke. Can you imagine where the ravens would have been if mason didn't come back. How on earth can the ravens go into a season depending on clayton, and williams.

Pete's reply: It's not like they can afford to go without him this year. Let's hope he gets it straightened out. When he's right, he's a very good player.
