Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in
The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.

Well, we know only one of them is funny.

Pete's reply: That's unkind, though probably true. I've seen all his movies and I don't the the guy is that funny either.

You and Pauly Shore.

Pete's reply: You're half right.

I believe that it is one Peter Schmuck and one Robin Williams. Of course, I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time, just ask my wife, whom you can take if you please).
"W" is for whoopee cushion
.............................................................................................
Pete's reply: Nope. Robin Williams went to the College of Marin in the Bay Area.

steve martin and u....

Pete's reply: Good guess, but Steve Martin went to Long Beach State.

OK I know it but it took me 20 minutes of serious internet sleuthing. I wont spoil it for my fellow blogers.

Pete's reply: Thanks. Those years in Army intelligence clearly have paid off.

Diane Keaton

Pete's reply: Technically correct, though I would have said actress if I was looking for a female star and I don't believe she is generally thought of as a comedian, despite all those Woody Allen movies. Since I was not gender specific, you get a gold star, but there also is a male star that fits the description more closely.

I believe I remember way back in the day, when he was on SNL, that Steve Martin went to Santa Ana, of course it may have been one of the other SNL performers instead. Than, since you are one of the Great Self Promoters, you.
...............................................................................................
Pete's reply: Steve Martin went to LB State, but the SNL part is on point...and the part about me being a shameless self-promoter.

Frank the Tank --- Will Ferrell.

Pete's reply: You da man.

Peter Schmuck and Will Ferrell - which one's the funny one?
Posted by: Jim | June 14, 2009 3:56 PM
Peter, Peter, Peter....
Female actors are no longer "actresses", they are simply actors. And I would submit "Play it Again, Sam", "Sleeper", "Love and Death", and "Annie Hall" are funnier than anything Will Ferrell has ever done (I know, all Woody Allen scripts/vehicles).

Hey Pete, I went looking because I knew someone from SNL of the 70's went to Santa Ana and it was Steve Martin, before he went to LBS.
"After high school graduation, Martin attended Santa Ana Junior College, taking classes in drama and English poetry. In his free time he teamed up with friend and Garden Grove High School classmate Kathy Westmoreland to participate in comedies and other productions at the Bird Cage Theatre, a theater concession inside Knott's Berry Farm. Later, he met budding actress Stormie Sherk, and they developed comedy routines while becoming romantically involved. Stormie's influence caused Steve to apply to Cal State Long Beach for enrollment with a major in Philosophy."
..............................................................................................
Pete's reply: Wow, where did you find that? I researched Martin while I was doing that and Santa Ana College did not list him as a prominent former student. My bad.
