O's extras

Danys Baez has just pitched a scoreless 10th inning with the score tied at 2-2. The Orioles bullpen has been impressive, working 4 1/3 innings of one-hit relief to push the game into extra innings.

Meanwhile in Norfolk: David Hernandez finally faltered in the eighth inning, giving up three unearned runs to deadlock the game with Rochester, 3-3. Hernandez worked 7 1/3 innings, gave up just three hits and struck out 14 before turning the game over to the Tides bullpen.

So far, at least four Nationals relievers won't take a loss...Trembly is out of position players...amazing. These two 200-loss teams are gonna blow out there bullpens before the weekend. Can I predict tomorrows score at 14-11?

What is really distressing...these guys need Jenny Craig! I've never seen so many fat guys! Here is an SNL Olympic 4x400 meter relay team:
1. Nick Johnson 2. Adam Dunn 3. Ty Wigginton 4. Georgie "Porgie pudding and pie" Sherill.

FAT TUBS OF GOO!!! Could you imagine the dialog if Joe Buck was broadcasting this mess on FOX? Plenty of references to Terry Forster, Gorman Thomas, and Steve Foucault...Oh and the Reuchel bros (Paul and Rick)...

Major Porkitude.

The bullpen is finally turning into an asset and should continue to be mostly reliable and dominant the rest of the way. We should however send Ray down to AAA for a bit to iron out his mechanics (no big deal: he did miss a year and it takes time to get it back) when we call up a starter next week.

Good going (Judge) Reimold!

I really enjoyed it.
I am from Panama and bad know English, please tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "Flea bite dermatitis is the number one allergic skin disorder in cats and remember, a flea problem is an environment problem."

Best regards ;-), Langston.

About Peter Schmuck
Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.
