Minor matters
Scott Moore and Nolan Reimold combined to hit three homers and drive in nine of the 14 runs in Norfolk's 14-7 victory at Scranton/Wilkes Barre. Don't know which one of them kicked the extra points. Moore had two homers and three run-scoring hits. Chris Tillman pitched five innings and gave up three runs on four hits with six strikeouts.
Ryan Freel has started his injury rehabilitation assignment at Bowie. He played third base and batted leadoff tonight, going 0 for 3 with an RBI.
Brian Matusz was throwing a gem through four innings for Frederick. He gave up just two hits and struck out four, but faltered in the middle innings and ended up giving up four runs (three earned) over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision.

Good Lord, I thought you were telling us that Ryan Minor had worked his way back into the system.

Enough of the Felix Pie experiment already!!! It's time to see what Reimold can do at the major league level.

Ryan Minor is in the system, he's a hitting coach (at Delmarva I think)

Hey, no Postgame Laments?
I got one, how about Pregame - Laments to Be, where someone pre-interviews Dave T and he tosses out some pre game quotes that sound like post-game quotes so he needn't show for the post-game at all, as the chances of the story being any different is pretty remote.
He's a smart guy, he's managed 57000 games, he knows the score.
In-Game Laments? Maybe a sideline reporter interviews one of the outfielders from the visitors pen after he retrieves a gapper at the wall and throws it in. Or asks a pitcher which of the 37 bad pitches he threw tonight that he MOST regrets. Or grabs one of the guys that was just thrown out on the bases and hands him a traffic ticket for unlawful movement
Or maybe they ask Mr Good With the Young Guys, Davey T which one of the new young kids on the roster during this rebuilding phase shows the most promise, and he looks around for one.
This rebuilding oughta be fun for everyone. Not just the Orioles.
On a side note, I see the Jays shipped Buress out before the O's had their chance to help him pad his 14 ERA. Damn. Timing is everything.

Pete, do you think by June that this club will be a lot different? I can't see them going with Hendrickson and Eaton for more than 2-3 starts, as it's clear that Mark would be valuable in the pen. Other than Waters and Hill, is there anyone else that's close? I can't imagine that the BP as it is right now, is safe either?
I knew this would be a tough season, but still hurts to watch this team with guys like Roberts, Jones, Markakis, Huff and Mora, have to watch their offense go down the drain most nights because the pitching (starting and relief) is terrible.

Pete's reply: Yes, changes are coming.

It's time to get reimold up here.
Pie- now we see what we about give Roberts up for last year.
And, this pitching is sadder than I thought. If we have all these arms on the farm- lets go get one or two WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE
...........................................................................................
Pete's reply: Don't kid yourself. There is plenty to lose if you throw out the program now and start over again with a new one.

I had a chance to see Norfolk play last evening. As a life-long Oriole fan, it was great to see some real prospects. Reimold, Moore and Tillman played well. Tillman may need more seasoning.
