Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in
The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.

I'm not asking you for lottery numbers anytime soon Pete!

Peter:
I will see your Schmuck prediction and raise you one. Eaton is bombed in four innings or less- at least six runs and close to 100 pitches by the time he leaves in four.
The sooner we DFA Eaton, the better- one more horrific start ought to do it...
It could turn out worse than this, but we'll see.

Are you saying the fix is in? The ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson appear to you during your afternoon nap?

Peter, as you know I am one of the few posters on here who ever says anything nice about Adam Eaton. I know he is better than he has looked early on. I am of course hoping he pitches well (a Quality Start) tonight because I too think that will be enough to enable the O's to emerge victorious. And that's an official Clayton Fletcher prediction!

Interesting Schmucker. I was thinking I would turn on the game around 7:20 and see the O's down 5-0 and feel comfortable watching hockey and/or the Office the rest of the night. Maybe now I will hang in there with the Birds.

You should seek professional help. That is way beyond going out on a limb. Adam Eaton should just pitch underhand; then the homeruns jacked off his lifeless pitches will at least be moderately entertaining and hilarious.

The one thing Eaton has going for him is that he has strikeout stuff. Even when Guthrie and Uehara don't give up too many runs, they tend not to have many strikeouts, and there aren't many dominating MLB pitchers who don't have high K rates.
Now if only he could do something about all those baserunners.

Pete - Maybe you are sensing or hoping that Eaton realizes it's go time... a former 1st rounder, he's got to think that if he doesn't start performing now, his career may well be over.
I hope you're right!

Just thought I'd check in to see if anyone conceded that you were right... doesn't look like it yet

I stand corrected, good sir.

Alright Schmuck. Any stock tips for tomorrow?

Darn Pete...where did you find the crystal ball you used tonight. You couldn't have gotten any better if you'd have written it AFTER the game.
My hat is off to you Carnac...

Peter nice call w/ the Eaton outing. If there were odds on that bet I'd have to give you at least 15-1. What you expecting out of Ko-Ji!!!! tomorrow?

Pete's reply: I have yet to get a revelation.

When you're right, you're right. (Sometimes, anyway.) Well played, sir.

Kudos. Can you do that for the rest of the season?

Peter,
Nice call. If you predict one more correctly this week right, we will all dance naked in front of the Suns office waiving our nine irons, with Rick!
