Ravens: The plane facts

Whether the Ravens advance to the Super Bowl with a victory on Sunday night or lose to the Steelers and complete their surprising season, the team is requesting that fans do not try to meet them at BWI Airport or the Ravens facility when they return from Pittsburgh.

The team, bowing to a request from airport officials, will not come through the terminal upon their return, so the team is tentatively planning to have the buses stop at the Owings Mills Mall on the way back to the facility so fans can greet the team. Fans who wish to greet the team should assemble outside Boscov's department store (right off the Red Run Blvd. entrance to the mall), where a special area will be set up for that purpose.

Pete-Are you as surprised as the rest of Ravens fans at the teams' magical run this year?

Are the Ravens your favorite NFL team? I know about your allegiance to USC college football. Thanks !

Pete's reply: I grew up a KC Chiefs fan, for reasons that require some time to explain. If you're down in spring training this year, we'll have a beer at Champs and watch the Terps on the big screens and I'll tell you all about it.

Pete they should call this Sucker Fest @ Owings Mills Mall.

Pete's reply: Why?

I wonder how much Owings Mills Mall paid the Ravens for this.

.............................................................................................
Pete's reply: I doubt they got anything on either side. Do you think anything's going to be open at midnight on Sunday night?

Pete, You didn't answer my question about Millar this morning. Are you not allowed to comment in Kevin?

..............................................................................................
Pete's reply: What do you mean? Why wouldn't I be allowed to talk about Kevin? I've answered the Kevin question about a hundred times. You know I like Kevin a lot and I'll enjoy the season a lot more if he's around. The team, however, seems to have decided to go in another direction, though no one has completely ruled him out.

Pete,

Do you think the ravens will be signing autographs at the rally?

..............................................................................................
Pete's reply: I don't know. I kind of doubt it. I suppose the chances might be better if they win.

I'd still look for many fans at the airport. Remember these are Baltimore fans. Yeah, there will be plenty at the airport. At least that's what I am hoping. Hell who wants to go to Owings Mills and get mugged?

About Peter Schmuck
Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.
