College football overload
So, New Years Day is over and there still is one more full week of college football bowl action. I recently re-read The Federalist Papers and I just don't think this is what the founding fathers had in mind.
My college football season officially ended at halftime of the Rose Bowl. Southern Cal was up 31-7 and appeared to be poised to make an end run at the Associated Press national championship, but the Trojans let up on the gas in the second half and Penn State salvaged some self-respect by closing the gap to just 14 points in the final minutes.
Now, we have to wait until next Thursday to find out who will win the BCS title, which is fine since I really don't care whether it's Florida or Oklahoma. I just hope they quit moving the championship game back before it butts into spring training.
In a perfect world, they would have some kind of playoff system, but in a perfect world, Mark Teixeira would be an Oriole, Willis McGahee would have a sock in his mouth and the Yankees would have to sell Alex Rodriguez to pay for their new stadium.

Peter-
What is this I keep seeing about Jason Giambi? Personally, I like it. 1 year with an option. Its an offensive upgrade over Millar, and a defensive upgrade over Huff. Does he have a 40 HR season left in him? Also, word is that the O's have lowballed Kawakami.
Any details on their offer?

Pete's reply: Do not know their offer on Kawakami, but it obviously is not high enough yet.

Personally, i don't think there should be any college football after Jan 1st. And the corporations and universities don't want it, but i think a lot of the country would like to see the bowl games cut down to about 1/2 their number as they stand now.

Willis McGahee : enigma. When he peeled off that 77-yard run in Dallas, I thought to myself that he had just earned himself an opportunity to play for the Ravens next season. Now that Willis has popped off and shown his true ("me first, and screw the rest of 'em") colors, I now feel that the Ravens will be just fine without McGahee. Now he's just another name in the never-ending list of athletes whose self-importance is tantamount to all else. Sorry, Willis, but that mind-set does not fit into the current Ravens' structure.

Pete , the bowl games are all about the money , we will never see a playoff , all though wouldn't this be a great year for one ?
By the way , in a perfect world , Peter the Great wouldn't own the O's either.........

Peter- I have never been a Florida fan. Spurrier turned me off to them. There was an arrogance. Plus, that Tebow guy annoys me. Have you seen his girl friend?
Life isn't fair.
Plus, Jai Lucas shot down our Bball program in favor of Florida. now he is transferring so HA!.
Oklahoma deserves this one. I mean, what else is in Oklahoma? Its like as much as I hate the Steelers and think they have a horseshoe up their you know whats...(and love "time to stuff the horseshow" time probably)
when they win, I am kind of like, it's Pittsburgh. All they got is football.
