Ravens: Help probably was not on the way
There were a number of playoff scenarios in which the Ravens didn't necessarily have to win both of their last two games, but all you have to do is turn on the television to see how important it was to keep their fate totally in their own hands.
The New England Patriots are hammering the Arizona Cardinals right now in snowy Foxborough, and it's pretty obvious the Cards -- who are already in the playoffs -- just want to get out of the cold.
The Pats are gathering momentum, so Ravens fans did not want to be in the position of hoping for the fading Buffalo Bills to keep hope alive in Baltimore next week. The Ravens still have a game to win, but if they take care of business, they might do double duty by cementing their postseason berth and keeping the dangerous Patriots out of the playoffs.

When are we going to start seeing the same defense in the fourth quarter as in the rest of the game?

yes, thank you! I'm so tired of seeing that prevent defense. All it prevents us from doing is winning the game. (i.e., Steelers 2x, Titans)

So what's the playoff picture for the Ravens? I know if we win we're in. If Miami wins and we win, we play at Miami and New England is out even, if they win. If we win and Miami loses and New England wins, we play at New England. If Miami wins and New England wins and we lost, we're out. If Miami wins, New England loses and we lose, we are in and play at Miami. What happens if New England loses, Miami loses and we lose? Who wins the AFC East? Do we have the tie breaker over the Jets?

Pete's reply: I haven't sorted through all that yet. Don't want to be accused of being fatalistic.

A Ravens game ball should go to Jason Garrett for turning down the job as Ravens' head coach. Furthermore, he showed by his silence in the recent TO flare-up why he would have been a mistake.
Harbaugh is a leader.

Pete,
Please tell Jerry Sandusky to wait to call the game a win until it is.
When McGahee scored at the end. he screamed 'the hay is in the barn'. What the hell does that mean?
Then the Cowboys come back and score.
During the Steelers game, he stated 'the Ravens have a comfortable 9-3 lead'.
He makes listening to Keith Olberman almost bearable. Almost.

I think we're only out in at most two scenarios. If New England and Miami win and we lost, we're definitely out. The question is what if New England wins and the Jets win. I think the Jets win over the Titans could give the them the edge, but I didn't take the time to play out all of the tiebreakers. Go Ravens, Go Buffalo.

Has anybody figured out if we can get a 1st round home game? I think #1 & #2 seeds get byes (Pitt & Tenn) and #3 (Colts) is home against #6 and #4 (Ravens?) home against #5. Sound right?

Pete's reply: Ravens will play a division winner (if they get in). They cannot be at home.
