Ravens' "Mad Backer" still mad
It's a week early to revisit the bad blood beween Bart "The Mad Backer" Scott and Hines Ward, but that didn't keep Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports from putting it at the top of his list of the NFL's biggest feuds and stirring the thing up again.
Here's a link to the story, which is pretty entertaining. Scott softened his rhetoric about Ward earlier this year, only to get mad all over again when Ward's blind-side block broke the jaw or Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers.
“There’s nothing mano y mano about that,” Scott told Yahoo. “You put him in a phone booth with half those guys that he’s taking those shots at, he’d get his ass whupped.
“If we’re going to play that way, let’s play that way. Let’s not play that way just when it benefits you, let’s play that way all the time. That means when Keith Rivers is defenseless and you take a shot and break his jaw, that means when you come across the middle and you’re defenseless, I get to take that shot. … That’s not man on man. That’s a cheap-shot artist. If you’re going to take a shot, that’s cool. But allow me to take mine without a $35,000 fine.”

Whereas it seems aparent that the O's wont be doing much in Vegas, I offer that your loyal readers assign you some chores.
I would ask that you return with one famous (non-baseball autorgraph) possibly Wayne Newton, also find your best odds on the Raven's making the Super Bowl, put down a buck for each of your readers, then when our team makes it to the SB you can use your winnings to throw a party at your house for all of us.
I don't know Vegas so I would like to hear what other readers would give you as "chores" while you are there.

Pete's reply: I don't know about the Super Bowl bet. Where am I going to scrape together $10 million.

Thank God you stopped typing in all italics.

Pete's reply: I hate it when that happens.

I agree with everything Bart Scott says and furthermore I wish nothing but the worst for Hines Ward and his family.

I prefer to refer to Scott as Sheriff Bart...a Blazing Saddles reference

I don't think Hines Ward is going to have a good game next week. He might wake up on Monday morning very sore.

Peter, have you ever noticed how closely Hines Ward resembles Smokey Robinson, except Hines' hat is about 3 sizes larger than Smokey's? I don't know if my observation has merit, but it could partially explain why Ward is such a dastardly little imp. Imagine growing up with a name like "Hines" and all the kids making fun of that big Smokey-Robinson-lookin' head----it could explain a lot about Ward's mental pathology now: the wounded ego who's out to get back, to hit and run, to hurt others without remorse, to exact revenge for a miserable childhood.

You forget the best quote in the article from Scott.
“I hate everybody on every other team than mine. I don’t give a [expletive] about anybody on any other team – period. I don’t speak to them during the game. I’m not high-fiving guys. And I’m talking about guys who have been here and left, too. It doesn’t matter. You’re trying to take something away from me that I deem important. Why should I care about you? Why should I like you? You don’t have to like me, and I don’t have to like you."
“Ask me who I’m rooting for in the Super Bowl. If I’m not in it, I hope they cancel the damn thing.”

Bart Scott may talk a little too much but most of the time he is pretty entertaining to listen to.
