Ravens: Rolle hopeful
Stopped by the Ravens training facility just in time for cornerback Samari Rolle's informal press conference in the lockerroom. He still isn't 100 percent sure his sore neck will allow him to start Sunday, but acknowledged how important it would be for him to be our there with Chris McAlister apparently headed for the injured reserve list.
"He's such an important part of what we do,'' Rolle said, "we really need to be at full strength.".
When somebody asked Rolle how he thought he would feel when he takes the field in Cleveland, he didn't sugarcoat the situation.
"I won't know until I hit someone,'' he said.

McAlister is headed to the IR? Is his knee that banged up, or is this a way to get a bad apple off the team?

Pete's reply: Those are two of three possibilities.

So what's the third possibility?

Can't Samari hit somebody hard in practice? Just so we'll all know if he's ready?
Any volunteers out there?

Pete's reply: I'd rather have him go out there and play as long as he thinks he can.

It would be nice to actually see him play...if he is truely 'ready to go'. If not, they need to keep him off the field so our secondary does not get burned or Rex has to try and 'hide' him in the schemes.
Is it possible that our young guys can step up and do a good job without our big corners? McCalister & Rolle....they have not played much all year (if at all) and Rex has got the young guys learning in a hurry. I think he has done a decent job on it by what is produced on the field - don't you?
...keep in mind, they have not played well with any elite offenses yet.
Maybe something to look forward to....

I guarantee you c-mac's knee is in serious condition. If he were good to go, he would be on the field; corners that good are hard to come by. I can only hope that rolle can take the field in his absence and try to cover edwards.
