Peter Schmuck wants you to know that, contrary to popular belief, he is more than just a bon vivant, raconteur and collector of blousy flowered shirts. He is a semi-respected journalist who has covered virtually every sport -- except luge, of course – and tackled issues that transcend the mere games people play. If that isn’t enough to qualify him to provide witty, wide-ranging commentary on the sports world ... and the rest of the world, for that matter ... he is an avid reader of history, biography and the classics, as well as a charming blowhard who pops off on both sports and politics on WBAL Radio. That means you can expect a little of everything in
The Schmuck Stops Here, but the major focus will be keeping you up to the minute on Baltimore’s major sports teams and themes, whether it’s throwing up the Orioles lineup the minute it’s announced or updating you on the latest sprained ankle in Owings Mills. Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.

After 2 close, highly emotional battles, I don't hold it against the Ravens to let down somewhat. It would be sweeter if they had taken one of the close ones--but it is time to lick the wounds and focus on next week.

Chris is so washed up it's not funny. One question pete the special team play went from being average to the worst in the league. This new guy has to get fired., we didn't start one drive past the 20 yard line the whole day. the only facit of the special teams that is any good is our punter.

It's only one game. Several teams had their butts handed to them today, we just happened to be one of them. The offense has to be quicker from the start, as they were in the 4th qtr. We all know its a work in progress. Our special treams aren't very special, and the secondary is always exposed by a great QB. We're not in that elite class yet, probably just average. Wait a year or two, we'll be rolling.

Chris deserved what he got today.

We need to address the issue with the secondary immediately or we will get torched by every QB in the league.
We are back to the end of last year, with players that really shouldn't be playing in this league going up against elite players (yesterday was a prime example)
Last year it was Ronnie Prude & Corey Ivy -- this year its Frank Walker & Corey Ivy. Get these players off the field and spend money on players who can.
Oh yeah, I forgot, we can't because we pay our has-been CB's the big bucks to get schooled on a weekly basis. McAllister is over the hill and leisurely jogs after receivers should they get more than 3 feet away.
I almost guarantee that the Dolphins have the biggest win of the season with a huge game from Pennington next week. Our weakness has been exposed and will continue to be until we fix it.

Pete,
I agree with you, McAllister was exposed by Peyton Manning on Sunday, as he always is against good quarterbacks. (By good I mean, 85% of the staring QB's in the league)
I also agree with your buddy NASH. He must be a very astute individual, who obviously values blogging more than his job. The secondary has to be adddressed, but more importantly; STOP SIGNING PLAYERS TO LONG TERM-BIG MONEY DEALS!
The deal usually out lives the player, and sometimes the players don't live up to the deal. The Ravens are a victim of both scenarios.
As Nash said, the Ravens secondary is JUST HORRIBLE.
5 wins, if we're lucky. That's OK with me, if you show me the players that are the future of this club.
