Weather update: It's not Hurricane Ike, but a steady rain is falling here at 3:51. Tarp is on the field. Forecast is about 75 percent chance of showers throughout the night. Would have been nice if the Twins had had the decency to bring their indoor stadium with them.

Birthday greetings: Happy natal anniversary to my friend and former coworker Roch Kubatko, who claims he is 28 today.
