Ravens rally

The rain stopped for the Orioles salute to the Ravens tonight, but there weren't very many fans there to take part in the pregame festivities. It was a nice gesture by the Orioles -- having Ravens president Dick Cass throw out the first pitch and the Ravens cheerleaders perform on the infield. If only the intimidating weather had not kept everybody at home.

At least, I think it was the weather. There was also the pesky seven-game losing streak and the fact that the Orioles pitching staff averaged eight walks in those seven games. No, it was the weather. I'm pretty sure.

Bad baseball update: Daniel Cabrera has walked the first three batters he has faced in the game. The Orioles already have minor league call-up Alfredo Simon warming up in the bullpen.

Pete -

It appears that Chris Tillman just got taken out of the Bowie game in the third inning due to a line drive to his head. Could you get some sort of update on how serious it might be?

Pete's reply: Apparently, he got hit by a ball back through the box, but didn't hear it was in the head.

So what exactly do the Ravens do for the Orioles? Just seems kinda one way from down here in FL.

Whats next Hulk Hogan night?

Nice job by DCab tonite, 11 runners in 3 innings.. at some point you just realize that this guy is what he is and not what you want him to be. And that's a 2 million dollar a year #5 starter, not a 2 million dollar a year # 2 or # 3, or even trade bait, or a non-tendered ex-Oriole, which, depending on your point of view, is what you hope he might be.

On the bright side, 90+ losses is quite probable. I like their chances.
Despite DaveT urging them on, this is about the time where the position players decide that they too have seen enough. And playing behind the league's worst pitching staff this many years in a row might be enough to beg to get the hell out of Baltimore. I'm sorry, but this team has no pitching now, and no arms in the minors that look ready for the majors.
If you thought this year was bad, next year will make this year look like a walk in the park.

Well Peter?

Lets see the O's moved Fanfest to accomodate the Ravens, the O's essentailly cancelled a home gate to accomodate the Ravens and the O's held a rally to support the Ravens.

What do the Ravens do to help support the Orioles?

.............................................................................................
Pete's reply: I don't know, but the Orioles didn't voluntarily move aside for the Ravens. That was a Ravens date on the calendar and a mistake by MLB scheduling the O's at home.

Oh, and by the way, that’s Mr. Schmuck to you.
