Updating the game
Daniel Cabrera allowed six earned runs (seven total) and walked five batters in five innings. He served up two home runs. He threw 104 pitches, including 32 in the first.
And he led, 9-7.
Cabrera won't get the win. Such a pity. Dennis Sarfate was charged with three runs and didn't retire a batter in the sixth.
The Orioles sent 12 batters to the plate in the third inning and scored six runs. Brian Roberts became the first Oriole to double twice in the same inning since B.J. Surhoff on Sept. 14, 1999.
This one is far from over. And I mean we're only in the bottom of the sixth.

I remember a class I had in college in a building with mirrored-glass windows. There was a cardinal that virtually every day would fly into one of the windows time after time, probably 20 times in the hour-long class. The stupid bird nearly knocked itself out each time, thinking it was attacking a rival cardinal (having seen itself in the mirrored glass). Dave Trembley must feel that way attempting to buy wins for his starters by pulling them pursuant to a pat formula which says Sarfate will get him the 6th and/or 7th, Johnson will get him the 8th and Sherrill will get him the 9th. You can give guys roles, but you can't go with the formula every time. The feel of when not to is the difference between managerial greatness and managerial competentness. Dave blew it by yanking Guthrie the start before last when Johnson/Sherrill blew one. Tonight you could argue that DCab was finally on a roll and should have been left in. 104 pitches is not a lot for him. The point, however, isn't so much whether DCab should have been pulled, it's that Sarfate cannot do the job he is being asked to do. He's a situational righty only. Square peg, round hole Dave.

Why sarfate in the sixth???
When is the last time he has gotten anyone out???
Why not Cormier in the sixth and maybe the seventh???
The game plan never changes and it continues not to work!!!
"z" is for zero outs when Sarfate pitches.

It's over now! Thanks to Ramon and Luke as well as the play at home at the top of the tenth.

I hope that this is not one of those situations with loewen where the O's kind of "force" him through, and make a public relations circus of it, to get some return on the Draft pick. The O's do have several players flying under the organizational radar so-to-speak that I think deserve more attention. Cole McCury and Cris Salberg at Aberdeen are 2 of them. Elvin Polanco at Bluefield is hitting like 398 with 7 HR this year after hitting 318 with 11 with the GCL o's last year. Montanez and Reimold are beasts. Hernandez, Bergeson, and Tillman are too good to be true. Lets pump these guys up.

I called the Loewen deal yesterday! Im surprised that he is shooting for the outfield, with jones and markakis its crowded. Whatever though. I really like Trembly he is exactly what we have needed in a manager for a decade. I would love to punch Jim Palmer right in his shiney face! Im so sick of his negativity. I would much rather listen to Rick Dempsey, he is educational and positive. Palmer only talks about failures. He is such a debbie downer!

Move over "Hesitation Blues." Tonight's song for this invigorating Oriole come from behind victory:
Country Joe McDonald's "Hold on it's Coming."
Adam Jones firing home to nail Polanco and keep the game tied in the 10th reminded me of T-Bone Shelby against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Down 6-0 after the top of the first? Nothing to worry about.
Luke Scott--onto Eutaw Street with a no doubt about her rising, game-winning hoist, and then sliding home like a kid so happy into the joyous celebration of his teammates at home plate.
11-10 Baltimore.
"It's been a good night, everybody."
