Jamie Walker threw batting practice to Brandon Fahey and Guillermo Quiroz. If his arm is fine tomorrow, he'll be activated or sent on an injury rehab assignment. Walker said he's ready to pitch again.

Walker back huh? Castillo's cup of coffee is starting to get cold.... on the other hand, get Walker back ASAP so he can show he is fine so he can be traded by the deadline...
If the O's do trade Sherrill, it had BETTER include a true P & SS prospect, almost can't miss types, not just maybes that they bury at Bowie!
I'd tell the teams interested in Sherrill , that they have to take Payton too, for a AA fodder type would be fine. Then bring up Salazar.

I am wondering why there is no talk about getting the SS from Pittsburgh Wilson. He is young, good range and good glove, and he can hit. They are saying it wouldn't take much. I believe he would be a very good long term fit for Baltimore and not cost much.

Didn't an Oriole once hit a game-winning grand slam and pat kelly told Earl, "I prayed and prayed Earl that so and so would hit that and he did!" to which Earl replied, "What about the poor s.o.b. that was praying he'd strike out!"
Mora's not waiving the no-trade to go to St. Louis. And nobody's giving the Os 3 of anything for Hernandez. I consider keeping him if only because next year is his contract year and he'll be paying better attention...remember, he was an excellent signing when the O's got him. Maybe they get at least one decent year out of him.
And who couldn't see this Posada thing happening when the Yankees gave him that big contract? Fools, unfortunately, rich fools.
Hard to believe how high Sherrill's value has gone. We'll see how AMc plays the Brewers and Cards against each other.
It seems 7 at 77m for Markakis would get it done. Is that fair?
And the Os lineup looks credible when you have a good-hitting Adam Jones in the 2 hole. Put Adam Dunn in the 4 spot and move everyone down one and it looks even better.

Hopefully the O's get a deal done with Milwaukee for Sherrill.
Alcides Escobar is a "star-in-the-making" SS at AA Huntsville and would be a nice return for the 31-year-old All-Star. I would make that trade straight up if the Brewers are interested.

I don't think you get two can't miss prospects for Sherrill. Maybe one, but that is probably overpaying. Sherrill is not a proven closer. He's doing very well and could clearly help a team, but I don't think you get a top guy and certainly not two for a 31 year old set up guy who is closing for the first time. With Huff or Roberts you might get a team's top prospect and another decent prospect or two.

Jamie Walker throwing batting practice? Doesn't he do that in games?

Who is saying it wouldn't take much to get Wilson. What are you reading--the comics? They are saying the exact opposite--that the Pirates price is so high no one will pay it.

Jamie's back; so is Bob Iancione. Like flies on sh*t.

agreed 100% on Alicedes. He should be ready for the majors next year at least defensively, and his hitting will catch up in second half '09.
