The lineup
Brian Roberts - 2B
Nick Markakis - RF
Aubrey Huff - DH
Ramon Hernandez - C
Luke Scott - LF
Melvin Mora - 3B
Kevin Millar - 1B
Adam Jones - CF
Brandon Fahey - SS
Jeremy Guthrie - P
Still no Freddie Bynum in the lineup.
I'll have an update shortly on reliever Chris Ray, who continues to rehab his right elbow at the minor league complex in Sarasota, Fla. All I know so far is he hasn't faced live hitters.
The Orioles are wearing blue Fourth of July O's hats. Not a good color with the black and orange jerseys.

Roch - Going out on a limb here, but I doubt too many of your readers are waiting with baited breath for the day that Freddie Bynum is in the lineup. The way Oscar Salazar hit while here and since his demotion I'm sure many more would prefer to see his name in the lineup.

Scott has been great. Mac better do his thing at trading deadline. Moves must be made. Make us better. We have lots of [ or some good ] back ups on the farm. Rowell needs to be sent down or a private hitting instrucor. He's lost. No big deal [ yet.] Did Herb beg to keep Huff since March?

Wieters is being pitched around at Bowie, as evidenced in his five walks in 29 abs. Led off innings twice on Wednesday and walked on five pitches in the one AB and went 3-1 in other. Right now he's batting behind Montanez and reimold so pitchers have no reason to pitch to him.
If Red Sox hold on, a win today moves the Orioles into 3rd place.

speaking of birthdays today, happy birthday to our owner, Mr. Angelos; you might have heard of him. i know everybody on this blog hates him, but come on Roch, i'm sure you knew it was today. i think he deserves a little credit for letting Macphail do his thing this year.

Love the blogs, Roch.
The hats today looked terrible, especially if they were for the 4th. Why not something like an American flag on a shoulder instead? That would have been much better suited for today.

You've got to think that an intern in the PR department was let go over this one. These are even worse than the grey ones they sported back in 2000.
