Mostly about me
First, the rumors...
It's true that I accepted The Sun's buyout package. My last day is Aug. 1. I'll have much more to say on the subject as the date draws closer.
As for where I land, nothing is official yet. I'm weighing my options - and it's not like I have a lot of them. I guess the best I can do right now is ask that you stay tuned. Hopefully, it will all make more sense later this week.
This will be an interesting week for the Orioles. Heck, it could be a very interesting day.
The rotation is going to undergo some radical changes. You already know that Radhames Liz is out. His spot will be skipped this week. And Brian Burres is hanging by a thread.
Manager Dave Trembley can't sit in the dugout any longer and watch his guys struggle to reach the fifth inning. It's unacceptable, even in a season that's been tagged as "rebuilding."
His options are limited, which is why he might have to go against his initial instincts and consider a Double-A pitcher. Team president Andy MacPhail appears to be more open to the idea, as well, though it's far from ideal. But what we're seeing now can't continue.

Roch, I can't even believe you're leaving! The Sun is absolutely crazy if they don't do whatever it takes to keep you. Wherever the blog ends up, know that I and a whole lot of other people will be there.

Have fun at MASN with the rest of the Oriole apologists.

i for one am glad to see Walker back. he is a proven comodity who has never really had a bad year in 6 seasons prior to this year. everyone, especially pitchers, are prone to a strtch of inconsistancy, even an off year, but he has a track record, and anything from him in his next few outings increases his trade value, as many teams are looking for veteren lefty relief help.
doesnt anyone realize, that like, just abnout every scout in the known universe had Liz projected as a reliever to begin with? why have we not went that route yet?
and can anyone please explain why Jeff Nettles completely missed like 5 consecutive seasons? how wild is this guy? did he have an addiction problem, and injury, or did he try to play another sport?? whats his deal?
and can someone please tell me of some of these trade rumors of which Mark Zinno speaks?

Liz = bullpen. maybe in the ultimate marvel universe Liz can learn to go 7 innings regularly but not in real life. perhaps a 4 man rotation would be best but i say bring up Bergesen, elet Tillman continue to learn, and if Sarfate really can start give him the chance. i dont know that he ever really has in his carer but he has a good arm and Cormeier and Burres can pitch long relief, Burress is better suited in the pen a long rleiever and lefty specialist hybrid role anyway. ok im really done posting now. sorry for multiple posts- off to work..
