Another pick signed
The Orioles have signed their 14th-round draft pick, right-hander Jesse Beal of South County High in Virginia.
Beal is listed at 6 foot 6.
Luke Scott was named the American League's Player of the Week after batting .538 with two doubles, three homers, six RBIs and four runs scored in four games after the break.
Scott posted a 1.385 slugging percentage - that's not a typo - and a .571 on-base percentage.
This is Scott's first career weekly award. Perhaps he'll win an ESPY for Best Slide Into Home Plate.

Comments
Hopefully Matusz will sign soon.
Congrats to Luke Scott, AL Player of the Week.
Roch, on a personal note, I hope the rumors are false that you are leaving us. We need you here with us. I love reading your blogs even if some of my comments are lame. You are still the man.

don't you think that adam lowen should try to play first base, or third base to improve his chances. The outfield seems to be set for the next four or five years.
thanks you

I know they called it bad baserunning by Mora, but I love to see him in a rundown because he always makes the other team work extra hard to get him. That little 'chicken' move he did waiting for Eckstein to come close before he took off - that was great.

Roch last week you talked about broken records. If you watch the oriole games that is what you get. Walks, that score every game. A base running mistake that generally costs the orioles at least a run or two. inability with a man on 3rd base and less then 2 outs to score a runner. And at least one horrible throw every game from ramon that doesn't even come close to getting a runner out.

Could someone mention that the link to the game log isn't so easy to find tonight. Usually located in plain sight in the little summary box. I had to go through the MLB scoreboard page first.
Good for Scott! Nice to have some good news after the continuing Sunday futility.

Hey John Moron, Loewen is left handed. Maybe he should try catcher while he's at it.

What is this crazy infatuation that Trembley has with Sarfate? He should not be in key situations right now, he is awful at this point. I don't understand.
