Getting into the Nationals' bullpen
Odalis Perez held the Orioles without a run over four innings. He didn't come out for the fifth.
Fresh off the disabled list and making his first start since June 3, Perez was removed with his pitch count at 75 and the Nationals leading, 2-0. The bottom of the Orioles' order did him some huge favors. Brandon Fahey flied out with a runner on first base and one out in the second, and Daniel Cabrera struck out on three pitches. Fahey grounded out with runners on first and second and one out in the fourth, and Cabrera struck out on four pitches.
Cabrera is 0-for-13 with 13 strikeouts in his career. He should just drop the bat at home plate and step away from it.
The Orioles scored once in the fifth against reliever Steven Shell, with Brian Roberts blooping a triple along the right-field line and scoring on a Nick Markakis grounder. Roberts extended his hitting streak to 14 games.

OK, 0-13 with 13 K's. But has he ever even made contact?

Hey Roch,
I'm a former Navy nuke submarine officer --- great to see MASN televise "God Bless America" at the 7th inning stretch. What was NOT good was seeing Adam Jones and Jay Payton on camera chatting and laughing during it.
Bad PR, guys. And Jay, you were already pushing the fans boo button with the FLAT BREEZY abdication.
Next time, shut up for the two minutes it takes for the song to be sung. Show a little respect.

So, is the press area "above the weather " ? And if so, can you describe some of the inhabitants? For instance, is say, Ted Williams there ?

Roch, Can you please ask Trembley why he keeps marching Mora out there and sitting Huff when Huff is one of the hottest hitters in MLB right now. Huff is hitting left handers as well so that's not an excuse and Mora has been dreadful. I hope we trade for Lopez so we can have the following lineup:
Roberts 2b
Lopez ss
Markakis rf
huff DH
Millar 1b
Scott lf
Mora 3b
quiroz C
Jones CF
That puts speed at the top of the lineup and in the 9 hole and puts plenty of power in the middle. Mora can work his way out of his slump down in the order.
In interleague Mora should sit and Huff should play 3rd base every 2 out of three games.

awful news for Albers - the O's and pitchers health - ugh! Not too bad for D Cab - but not eactly a lineup that scares you. Walking the leadoff man does him in. How they do it with such shaking starting pitching is betond me.

Don't look now, but Sir Sid has posted 5 innings of shut out ball against the Mets tonight.

Can Jay Payton run out ground balls? If not, sit him down and let him whine.

If the oriole pitchers don't stop walking batters i am just going to scream. How do you walk the lead off batter who is batting 8th in the order. For all the enjoyment they have provided me this year the walks just take all the pleasure out of watching the game. When liz and daniel pitch it's like pulling teeth. There is no way they should lose to this team. They put a triple aaa line up on the field.

Dave t you just keep playing mora , he is killing us. He might hit into a 100 double plays before the year is out. How can he keep playing a guy who has completley lost it.

The walk by Cabrera wasn't even that big a deal compare to the errors by Jones and Payton, and Jones' throw to third instead of hitting the cutoff. Jones loves to air out his arm, but every throw he's made this year to third has been off the mark and let the hitter advance to second.
The main problem is the pitcher, whoever it is, starting the hitter off with ball one. The approach has to be throwing strikes.
And I agree about Payton and Jones goofing off during God Bless America.

Bob-I agree with you , i dont understand why Mora gets play everyday either . My guess is Mora has big contract with no trade clause . On top of that , did anyone remember how Mora went ballastic when he found out his name wasnt on lineup one game last year? Mora , if your manager ever sit you down , remember he has 24 of your teamates to deal with also .

Mora needs a day off because he is not hitting right now.
