Before batting practice...
I made it safely to Nationals Park, where the press box sits so high up, it provides a splendid view – of my house.
I can’t believe I left a light on upstairs.
Catcher Matt Wieters has, indeed, been promoted to Double-A Bowie. He was told yesterday. He just didn’t report until today.
Details, details.
Left-hander Chris Waters has been sent down from Triple-A Norfolk to Single-A Frederick, in case you travel the country watching him pitch.
I’ll be passing along the lineup shortly. With left-hander Odalis Perez on the mound, who sits tonight? Aubrey Huff is on fire. So is Jay Payton. Kevin Millar almost certainly has to start against a southpaw. Melvin Mora was on the bench yesterday, so he won’t stay there tonight.
You make the call.
One of my colleagues is predicting that Millar sits, with Huff starting at first base. I’ll go along with that, only because the Nationals also are starting a left-hander tomorrow, John Lannan, which will give Millar a chance to start at first.

Comments
Can't sit Huff. Mora's defense at 3rd is too useful. Payton has earned another shot. Millar will be back in soon even for a PH tonight.
Weird stat-- Royals outfielder Jose Guillen has 60 RBI so far and will likely pass Emil Brown's 2007 team leading 62 RBI by the all-star break.

quite the pleasant predicament to be in i would say.
Do you bench AJ though and let Scott play?
s for Scott should play i'm thinking.

Roch,
Did you see the FOX story about the Os and Nats deal for Filipe Lopez?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. Jeff Zrebiec tossed out Lopez's name in today's notebook in The Sun. It doesn't appear that it would take much to get him. - Roch

What about Scott? He's hitting pretty well too. Jones could take a seat and Payton could play center. JPA is right, do not sit Huff. Interleague is over soon and the lineup will be back to normal.
Millar should sit. He always looks real fresh after a day of rest.

Saw Waters on MASN. Didn't impress. Soft-tosser who has to be perfect. A prospect to trade.
A Turk got drafted in the NBA yesterday. Who's roaming Turkey for the O's.
Suggest sending somebody expendable.
