Mora said he doesn't feel any pain in the right finger that sustained a cut during Wednesday's game at Yankee Stadiium. He has a glue-like substance on it to prevent the wound from opening. Mora also said he could have played about 30 minutes after the injury occurred, but since the inning wasn't over, he had to leave the game.
Adam Loewen threw off a mound for the first time, making 25 tosses - all fastballs - and saying his arm felt great. He's supposed to pitch an inning at extended spring training on June 4.
Chris Ray had his third bullpen session, with 30 throws, and expects to go on a minor league rehab assignment on Aug. 1. He still expects to pitch for the Orioles once rosters expand in September.
Danys Baez is about a month behind Ray. He's still restricted to long-tossing and isn't expected to pitch this season. Baez progressed to 120 feet but had to go back to 90 feet when he began feeling pain in his surgically-repaired elbow. He's back to 120, but still needs to progress to 150 and 180 before going to the bullpen. Once he's there, he'll be limited to throwing only fastballs before mixing in his curveball and splitter.
Fernando Cabrera will report here tomorrow for a bullpen session. He threw three innings at extended spring training on Wednesday and is ready for a minor league assignment. He's basically going through spring training, since he missed the first one. That's why he's behind Rocky Cherry, who was removed from the disabled list earlier today and optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.
Rule 5 pick Randor Bierd will begin a throwing program on Monday.

I'd really like to see Chris Ray pitch this season so he can get some of the rehab stress out of his system prior to a full physical return in '09.

Glad to hear Ray is on the comeback trail. He had a dreadful year last season & has alot to prove.
We have to dangle Sherrill at the deadline, to see if we can get a knock your socks off type of offer. If not, you dont trade him. Having a reliable closer will help preserve wins for our young developing starters. But if we get a nice offer & trade Sherrill I think you have to give the closer job to JJohnson.

Nice shirt Roch. Can you let Amber buy clothes or a jacket for you next time?
Btw, Walker needs to put all the fire he puts into his opinions and rechannel it into what remains of his career - which ain't gonna be for long. Like the dude or not - I don't care how colorful he is (I'm a Texan, too) - guy needs to shut it and concentrate on his last gasp run.

Pitching...pitching...pitching...can't get enough of it. We're reloading and it all looks so good. Forget this year. We're making more progress in the first 2 months than we have the past five years.. It'll happen (see: Oakland A's, Minnesota Twins)
