Olson's early struggles

Garrett Olson has been a slow starter in the first and fourth innings, each time allowing the first three batters to reach.

It cost him two runs in the first inning, both scoring on a Ryan Zimmerman single, and one run in the fourth on Elijah Dukes' sacrifice fly.

Luke Scott just homered to tie the game, 3-3, in the fourth.

Scott has homered in two of the last three games, and both shots have been measured at 385 feet. I'm guessing if he hit the warehouse, it would be measured at 385 feet.

Brian Roberts says his legs feel fine, so we won't blame his health, but he's stolen one base in his last 14 games, and made only two attempts.

Hey we have to expect Olson to struggle-it's all part of the learning process. I'd much rather see him out there than a retread like Trachsel, at least there's an upside.
Look's like Scott may be finding his power stroke and it would be nice to see Markakis start hitting a few out. Still, I think most of us are pleased with the season so far.
I can't believe the O's haven't drawn better crowds so far-I'd love to see a live game. It also looks like the novelty has already worn off in DC. Anytime I see highlights, etc the place looks almost empty.
In all reality, maybe the Balt/Wash area can't support one team let alone 2!! Pretty bad situation and I realize the Nats & O's aren't exactly powerhouses but still-MLB is a great sport to watch live. King Peter still makes out like a bandit with his $$$ but kind of depressing to see lack of fan support. Is it because overall interest in baseball is declining and people have better things to do? There are still hot spots like Boston/NewYork but many cities have small crowds night after night.

Someone needs to explain to Millar the art of base running which should always take into consideration ones speed.

Roch-I was wondering if we could nominate Kevin Millar to compete on next year's American Idol ?

Okay, so I only get to follow the game via Gameday, but it appears the Orioles have had three base running mistakes tonight -- two in the 5th inning that probably cost use runs.

Let's see if the BP can get us a win...Olsen was not as sharp as he has been and Albers has started with a walk...

I like the results so far, but if you'll excuse me for being a little negative ...

Three of our runs have been on defensive miscues. But give the O's credit for taking advantage.

Why did Roberts stop on his triple and almost get thrown out at third? On Mora's fly ball that got Roberts home, why did Mora not run until the ball fell? Replay didn't show it, but Palmer said it.

Why is Kevin Millar a baserunning moron?

It just seems to keep right on happening, yet not costing us much.

My vote for Matt Albers entrance music at the Yards: "Men, men, men, men, manly men, men, men..."

I take it Luke Scott is still sick. Between the camera showing him blowing his nose before entering the batter's box (the ol' press one nostril and push it out the other... yeech!) and hacking away after Bynum lost the fly ball, I feel a fever coming on just looking at him...

Albers is pitching great in relief... GIVE HIM A START AND GET RID OF TRACHSEL...

You just can't say enough about J.J. I have never been excited for a reliever to come into a ball game on any level until now.

It would be better than having Millar represent us on our Olympic Track team.

I don't understand why some of the hitters don't bunt more often. Roberts, Mora, Bynum, and Jones are all good bunters. If you can catch the defense playing back give it a shot.If you're a leadoff hitter, your job is to get on base. Huff should try it to if the defense shifts to the RF side of 2B when the 3B plays in the SS side, that leaves the 3B line wide open.

Trembley has to add baserunning clinic to the teams fielding practice. Numerous baserunning errors over many games. It hasnt hurt us that badly up to date but it surely will in the future.
