The lineup and more

Brian Roberts - 2B

Melvin Mora - 3B

Luke Scott - LF

Kevin Millar - 1B

Aubrey Huff - DH

Jay Payton - RF

Adam Jones - CF

Ramon Hernandez - C

Luis Hernandez - SS

Matt Albers - P

Nick Markakis is getting some rest. He's not injured.

Adam Loewen's bone scan came back clear, which is the good news. The bad news: The Orioles still haven't identified the source of his elbow discomfprt. He'll visit Dr. James Andrews, who performed the surgery last year, for a consultation. But the Orioles are relieved that the scan didn't come back hot.

Rocky Cherry will throw an inning at extended spring training on Thursday.

Within the next two weeks, the Orioles hope that fourth-round pick Tim Bascom will be pitching at Single-A Frederick. He recently tossed an inning at extended spring training while dealing with some discomfort associated with his oblique. The club wants him built up to 75 pitches before having him report to Frederick.

The rotation for the Angels series shapes up as Jeremy Guthrie, Daniel Cabrera and Steve Trachsel.

Wow Luke Scott in the 3 spot.

We here in the traditional territory of Loewen are happy to hear about the bone scan. With a bit of luck , it's a 4 - 6 weeker.

Obviously, now that Jake Arrieta has been anoited the next great coming.... & soon.... it's just a matter of time until he needs Tommy John surgery....

Payton has to bat 6th.... that says it all about this lineup. The latest little run has been nice , but this lineup is not going to cut it for the entire year.
L. Hernandez has 11 games & counting.... I agree with you Ken F, let's see what Torres can do & I can assure you I am not a Bynum fan, it's just that he is the next one in line.

Just a hunch, but I think Loewen is hurt more badly than we all know. I don't think we will see him for quite awhile.

I'm not optimistic about Albers getting any run support from that lineup but hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

How much more fun is it to hear about the exploits of Reimold, Rowell, Weiters and Arrieta, etc. in our minor league system, and see the progress of Adam Jones, Jim Johnson, Garrett Olson, etc. at the major league level, instead of some of the slugs that the FO has brought in here in the past. With the young players there is hope, with the "never-will-be's" and the "over the hill bums" that have been on the team and foisted on our fans, in the last ten years (James Baldwin, Eric DuBose, Steve Kline, Steve Reed, Geronimo Gill, Sammy Sosa, Mike DeJean, Jason Grimsley, Omar Daal, Rick Helling, Willis Roberts, Deivi Cruz, Marty Cordova, Fernando Lunar, Leslie Brea, John Wasdin, and the list goes on and on), there was never any hope. MacPhail has us headed in the right direction.

I like it, Dave is managing for the marathon and these type of moves will leave us fresher in September. My nephew is driving in from Vegas to see the game Sunday, laying Trachsel on him was tough news, maybe it will be one of his good games.

What is up with Luke Scott? Slumping, eh?

wow... without markakas that lineup is a joke. oh wait, even with markakas its still a joke just with a good right fielder.

Brian do you ever have any positive thoughts?

Good news, Yankees lost & it looks like the Red Sox will be losing to the Jays. I know there's reason to be skeptical but the Orioles will lose games too.

Anyone else sick of seeing the Rays?
