Still going...
The field is unplayable, but a game sloshes on.
If the Orioles play one more game in the rain, they'll need to change their team colors to mold and mildew.
So how did you feel about that squeeze play White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen called for in the 10th inning?
You're brilliant when it works. When it doesn't...
Brian Roberts doubles to open the ninth and I'm waiting for Melvin Mora to lay down a bunt. Then Roberts steals third and the bunt no longer is necessary.
You're brilliant when it works.
George Sherrill blew his first save when he hung a slider to Juan Uribe, who launched it into the seats in left field to tie the game, 3-3, in the 11th. And sportswriters everywhere paused to offer their sympathies to the guys in Chicago who want nothing more than to file their stories after waiting out the long rain delay, grab a late dinner, pack their bags and catch a flight back home.
It'll have to wait.

Why, oh why is Brandon Fahey in the major leagues? He might be a real nice guy and try real hard, but he doesn't belong in the bigs. Period.

Brandon Fahey has absolutely no value to this team. We need to add a different bench player.

What the hell is wrong with Samuel waiving Jones around 3rd...ON A SLOW ROLLER? THAT GUY HAS TO GO!
Trembley will not stand for undisciplined players, but what about a reckless 3rd base coach?
PS - someone please tell Aubrey Huff he's an adult. He whines, carries on s like an 8 year old. You don't need to complain and pout about EVERY called strike dude!

Forget about Fahey being on the team. We need a shortstop period!!

Huff's new nickname - Droopy Gross Face.
Thats what I used to call a former roommate who pouted all the time and its the exact same look I see from Huff several times during every game when he disagrees with the ump.

Apparently Brandon Fahey has been cheating on his girl from Nebraska with one of those Montana women.

Could someone tell FM Talk that AT&T needs a new commercial because friends Billy and John are getting so old.
Even though the commercial with Boog is also overplayed, it's my favorite because it's Boog Powell..
But anyway the commercials are weak, boring and tiresome during the Orioles games.
Please do something.

I'm guessing since Jimmy pitch a couple today that means Matt is going to be getting the nod on Wednesday...unless we need to use him tomorrow to cover for Olson if he falls way short.

Huff..... getting thrown out of the game, what a piece of work. Back when he had that radio incident going on, he made the statement that no one could accuse him of being smart... At least now we know he's honest.

I bet Fahey goes down and we keep Torres when they bring up Olson. With this team not hitting very much and not having any power, it can't make bone headed plays on the bases, like Jones and Mora. Also, is somebody going to start a pool to see when Scott hits his next home run. He was suppose to be our power hitting left fielder and he has 1 home run in 81 AB's. Must be something about the Baltimore air. Same thing happened to Huff when he came here. By the way, what did he do to get thrown out today??

I agree. He might be a solid defender, but the guy is flat out overmatched at the plate. I hope Freddie Bynum takes his spot when he comes back (instead of Torres'). At least Bynum has a chance to get a hit. When the best case scenario out of a hitter (Fahey) is a seeing-eye single, it's time to make a change.

Listening to Dave Trembley yesterday on the post game show, he said that umpires are being told to speed up the games even more which they then tell the managers.
So the umpires, I assume, have admitted to calling borderline calls, strikes. Trembley had told an ump that they shouldn't call his players out on a borderline third strike.
The other rule is that the relievers have to run out to the mound instead of walking. Whatever happened to a golf cart bringing in the pitchers? Does anyone know? Anyone?
I don't agree with any borderline pitches being called a strike. It's either a strike or a ball as the ump sees it. It really does confuse me. And a borderline strike three could mean the difference between a win or a lose. This means that the umpire is able to manipulate the game instead of the players.
We've all seen questionable calls and maybe speeding up the game is the result of many of them.
When Markakis got upset recently after being out on a called strike, I have to wonder. He may have been victim of an ump "speeding up the game."
I remember Cal Ripken Jr getting mad over the same thing. Were Cal and Nick right to be ticked at the ump?
I think they were.
If we want to save two minutes a game or whatever, I thought about this more than ten years ago that a manager should announce to the ump that the pitcher is giving an intentional walk. Why waste the time throwing four pitches?
In another thought, if the game is longer isn't more money being spent by the fans. Another Boog's item for example is more money.
Why does Bud Selig want to speed up the game of baseball anyway? I thought he was this huge fan of the sport.

Bill in Elkton... I agree about skipping over the formality of the intentional walk. It sure would have saved this team the humiliation of an intentional walker turning his intentional walk into a freakin' HIT a couple years back. That was us, wasn't it? That gave up the intentional walk/unintentional hit?
It can be bad enough when games are on ESPN/Fox due to their ridiculously long commercial breaks (2:30 vs shorter local network breaks) and throw in the chance of it being Trachsel's day in the rotation? Somehow 15-20 seconds of commercial breaks add up to an extra hour. Trachsel adds an extra time zone.
That's time in my life I just can't get back.
