How low can you go?
Tonight's attendance of 10,505 is the lowest in Camden Yards history. The previous low was 13,194.
Rule 5 pick Randor Bierd got out of the bases-loaded, no-out jam by allowing only one run on a double play. And he tossed a scoreless sixth.
Guess who isn't getting booed now? Aubrey Huff just hit a two-run homer in the sixth to reduce Tampa Bay's lead to 6-5 and knock Matt Garza from the game.
Huff received a loud ovation, but no curtain call. Too soon, I suppose.
This ties the earliest that Huff has homered in a season. In case you hadn't heard, he's a slow starter.

Thank you Aubrey.

Yes, he should be booed. How hong? Until he hits 8 homeruns -- one for every letter in that town he mentioned. However long it takes... being a slow starter it could be 2 months or more.

See? Booing helps.
Come on Huff, play yourself off this team!

If we pull it off, and I think we might, I wish we could give the win to someone other than Cabrera. Allowing 6 runs, loading the bases with no outs, all before the end of the 5th inning is simply inexcusable.

Omigod, Huff really is starting early. If this game goes into extra innings, he might be in danger of hitting for the cycle again. But can we hold the one-run lead with Sherrill?

Huff = MVP

Geek:
You can't get a win as a starter unless you pitch 5 innings. No chance for Cabrera.

How low will it go? Tomorrow will be less than 9,000.

Want to increase attendance? Have a George Sherrill hat day... Fans would finally have a place to sit their beer and nachos during a rally.

I was at the game tonight and while the attendance was really low, they were giving out really good tickets to people in the upper deck. My friends and I got to sit 5 rows back from 3rd base and see an awesome game. So if you need a reason to go... I suggest buying the worst tickets you can and see if you get lucky. Most fun I've had at a game in a while, even if Cabrera was stinking it up.

Huff can be our AL MVP if only he bat against Tampa's pitching for 160 more games this year [ chuckle ]
but thanks anyway , Huff

Roch-Are you sure those 10,505 fans includes invisible man and relatives ? LOL

It was so cold last night at the game that you couldn't feel your fingers after a while - I didn't expect there to be any walk-up crowd. I imagine 10,500 of the 10,505 tickets were season ticket holders. If it had been a little warmer, they'd have had a few thousand in walk-ups and wouldn't have set the low. Last year the same thing happened after the opener, but it was a little warmer (a week later). I hope warm weather gets here soon - these young guys need some support.
