Greatest hits for a team that needs them
REO Speedwagon is performing in concert at Regency Furniture Stadium, home of the independent Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, on Aug. 11.
Maybe they’ll come to Camden Yards and sing, “Riding the Storm Out,” which is pretty much all the Orioles do these days. They’re in another rain delay in Chicago.
Jeremy Guthrie wants to do his own version of “Take It on the Run,” except it would be, “I'll Gladly Take a Run”
He could save “I Can’t Fight This Feeling That I Need More Runs” for the encore.
Maybe Ramon Hernandez could open for him and sing, “Time For Me to Fly Out”
Then again, judging by some of the batting averages I’m seeing, the Orioles could start their own boy band and cover that song. But we knew the offense would run cold for stretches. And there aren’t many options for manager Dave Trembley. He can’t plug Eider Torres or Brandon Fahey in the cleanup slot.
This just in: Every pitcher in the American League has agreed to do a benefit concert – they’ll choose a charity later – on the condition that they’re allowed to serenade Nick Markakis with, “Keep On Walking You”
OK, now I’m done.

not one of your better blog entries. You in a slump as well?

You might want to provide more info concerning our Southern Maryland juggernaut and the location of their home park. I just checked ESPN and they don't list their schedule or directions to the park.

I always thought the ice cream drink at TGI Fridays was waaaay better than the band, REO Speedwagon....
At this point Roch, I think that the O's should hold a post-game concert with Jah Worx, the local 'reggae-ish' band. They would be relatively cheap to book, and would DEFINATELY out draw an O's Rays matchup....

"Too much time on my hands, it's ticking away with my sanity
I've got too much time on my hands, it's hard to believe such a calamity
I've got too much time on my hands and it's ticking away from me
Too much time on my hands, too much time on my hands
Too much time on my hands"- Styx covered by Steve Trachell

"Well I'm so tired of losing- I got nothing to do and all day to do it"- Jeremy Guthrie joins Trax on this line in the Styx ballad

Roch, don't listen to Jared. He just needs to Roll With the Changes.
This blog entry was genius. No need for people on the blog to be like a snake, "all coiled up and hissing."
Also, instead of "I don't want to lose you," Guthrie could sing, "I don't want to lose."
My only regret in life is not going to see REO at the Austin Rodeo a few years ago.

Now, now Jared ...
Does Roch rush to to you and complain when a Subway sandwich is a bit lacking?

Slow day huh, Roch?

Wow, Roch. While you seem to get the ridiculous of it (to a small degree), quoting REO Speedwagon represents a new low -- all this on the heels of an overall lack of blog entries from you. Oh well... there's always, Journey, Styx (which fellow poster Mather has already taken to quoting!). I look forward to your next entry.

I think the Orioles have the right attitude, and they can just add a little spice to their outlook with Aerosmith's Dream On:
Everytime that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face gettin clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dust to dawn
Isnt that the way
Everybodys got their dues in life to pay
I know what nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know its everybodys sin
You got to lose to know how to win
Half my life is in books written pages
Live and learn from fools and from sages
You know its true
All the things come back to you
Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if its just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away
(x2)
Dream on, dream on
Dream yourself a dream come true
Dream on, dream on
Dream until your dream come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on...
Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tears
Sing with me, if its just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away

I'm disappointed you know any REO songs. Man, real disappointed. Yet more disappointed you let us know you did. From now on, please keep that stuff to yourself...

Roch try sing to Roll with it baby by Steve Winwood
Think you are in a slump pal.

There is no need to worry about the O's hitting...really, there is very little to worry about, seriously, almost nothing to be all concerned about.
Zero. Zilch.

Roch - you certainly won't be The Last Comic Standing, maybe you should try Name That Tune

If I could ask Brian Roberts one question, I would ask him why he starts every single game with a dirty uniform. Every game, his uniform has a large dirt streak on his left shoulder (I think it is his left). Roch, can you please ask him why this is? Thanks!

I hate Carlos Quentin. I keep hearing his name, and I remembered him from the 2-game set in Baltimore so I looked it up. His numbers so far this year against the orioles in 5+ games (currently in the 7th inning):
avg: .529 (9-17), 6R, 5RBI.
And that's with going 0-3 in the first game we played against chicago this year.

Roch, you're way too good to be referencing Speedwagon. If that's your game, you need to meet this guy:

Of course there is always the saying: a game that ends in a tie after 12 innings is kind of like kissing your Sister Christian
