Nothing serious

Kevin Millar has a one-inch gash on his left pinkie finger that required one stitch. An X-ray didn't reveal any breaks, and he expects to play in two days, if not sooner.

Millar said if it was the regular season and the Orioles were facing the Yankees, he'd tape up the finger and play.

Millar also reminded us that his pinkie hangs off the bat, so it won't affect his swing. And it's not his throwing hand.

No, it's not his throwing hand. And, as anyone who has ever seen Millar will attest, it is also not his catching hand.

Whew! I'm glad Millar is okay. I mean it's bad enough that the O's are going to have Millar as their cleanup hitter, in contrast to Manny R. or A-Rod, but if he's hurt who'd be next on the list, Huff? Wow, what a limp lineup, I sure hope some of these kids have breakout seasons.

... some kids? Only Markakis and Jones qualify as kids among the everyday players ... this lineup would be lucky to compete against half of the AAA teams this year, unfortunately.

"H" is for "Hello, last place!"

Millar is the cleanup hitter & potter has $12M to toss at the state of Michigan to get Hillary some votes.... this says it all folks.

One stitch...all better.

We will remember the year Millar hit cleanup as "the bad old days."

How'd he get the gash...someone punch him in the nose? Whats the record for fewest homeruns by a team in a season? Man this is gonna hurt us more than it hurts the O's. Opening day is 10 days away and Johan and other front-line guys are stretching out to 6&7 innings. Has anyone on the Os gone more than 5? Are they capable? Ugh.

Good thing it was Millar & not Huff. This type of injury could have killed half of his recreational activity....

Who's next on the list?

Ever hear of a guy with the name of Markakis?

I don't have any strong opionions about Millar batting cleanup rather than Markakis but the latter certainly has proven himself more than capable of batting fourth.

I'm trying to focus on the positive with the O's and I suppose we can look forward to Markakis, Guthrie and maybe some young arms in the 'pen stepping it up. Then the thought of Millar batting cleanup all year creeps in and depresses me.
Maybe it's because I've seen years when there was actually cleanup candidates throughout the 3-7 spots. Millar's comedy act is wearing thin and he isn't going to get any funnier when we are 20 games out in June. He still may serve some useful purpose, like joking around with the players and fans but hitting cleanup????
Bat him 6 or 7 in a platoon role and trade him if possible but we really need to find a bonafide 4th hitter as he
ain't it'...

Baron - I would see Aquino as the replacement for Bradford, were he traded.

If it was the Yanks he'd play? So, what if it was the BoSox? He'd sacrifice bunt in the first inning, then come out of the game, and spend the rest of it in the opposite dugout where his heart lies, I'm guessing.

Sorry bout your hand, and I'm very glad its not broken, but I will never forget nor forgive that commercial.

All this whining about the Orioles being a bad team this year and coming in last place including me....if they happen to win four in a row this season so many people will be on the bandwagon that they are a winning club again. Personally I'm growing tired of the negativity already. Roch, how come you don't answer many questions from your biggest fans here? We ask and ask and ask and then tomorrow we'll ask some more. I would ask Baron or Jennifer, but they don't have your credentials. And while I'm griping (not whining) when is your new 2008 Baltimore Sun blog photo coming out? You could have a full beard right now and we'd never know it. Jim From Dundalk could be dining at the Rusty Scupper and you'd be at the next table and nothing.

Happy Birthday to a Dodger star who became one fine Oriole in the early days of the DH--Tommy Davis (69).

Bill in Elkton , I love the Rusty Scupper................I also love the O's , I just hate what Peter the Great has done to this once proud organization.......................Sorry , I just can't get behind this jerk of a man who constantly pisses off the great fans of Baltimore..............I may be overly critical at times but it is just my frustration with him................Happy Easter.......
