Loewen update
Adam Loewen threw on the side today, and bullpen coach Alan Dunn said it was the best he looked all spring. Loewen said he felt tremendous and now understands why the Orioles skipped his turn.
Loewen will start Wednesday.
Ed Rogers is here. I think he aged another three years since the Nationals' bus arrived.

Comments
Chris, Thanks for Blake "The Rat" Davis's nickname origin. That's pretty bad to be a rat look alike, so I'll agree with your version that he's pesky like one.
Jim, I can't find results of minor league spring training games either. I did see a www.milb.com site for the start of the regular season which I didn't know about.

Of course, who can forget Ed Rogers' amazing 2005 campaign with the Orioles in which he fashioned a slugging percenatge of four thousand!

Tell Ed Rogers to be careful of those wardrobe malfunctions. Keep those sleeves tied down. That was another time when the Orioles made the highlights for an embarrassing reason.

Trembley just said no decision on 5th starter or OD starter until after Loewens game Weds>
DCab looks great today. Wow, hope he can can this for the season.

In watching the game for a bit today on MASN, im realizing that Daniel Cabrera is wearing #40 this spring. Any reason for the switch?

I've checked mlb.com, minorleaguebaseball.com, ESPN, the Norfolk Tides site and the Norfolk, VA newspaper site looking for Spring Training scores. The only reason I know the Tides played a game is from looking at the Louisville Bats web site. Unfortunately; there was no box score and no mention of individual performances by Tides players. Can anyone find this info on the Internet?

I always thought the Opening Day start should be an honor bestowed based on the previous year. So I think without question it should be Guthrie. It would be a joke if Trachsel is the Opening Day starter over Guthrie ...

Who is this #40 and what did he do with #35 Daniel Cabrera? He was just here last week...

Hah! This should be funny. Wondering what kind of comments we'll read on Cabrera today. Bet at least three people mention the possibility of him being the opening-day starter.

MLB.com has spring training stats for hitting, pitching, and fielding. I invite everyone to go there and examine the fielding percentage and range factor for the shortstops....makes interesting reading.

Roch, on Hot Stove Baseball Friday night on MASN, Tom Davis said he understood from someone that Loewen's injury may be worse than they feared, and he may have to miss the start of the season. Then as soon as Buck Martinez was on the phone during the show, he said he'd just talked to Trembley, who said what you're saying, that Loewen's side session was fine, and he'll start Wednesday.
Can you account for where Tom Davis got his evidently erroneous information?
