Rough start for Loewen
"Hey Adam, what's up?"
"Everything."
Adam Loewen had trouble keeping the ball down and throwing strikes in the first inning, and the Marlins took a 1-0 lead.
Loewen threw 23 pitches, 12 for strikes. He walked the leadoff hitter, Hanley Ramirez, who stole second and third, and sprinted home on catcher Ramon Hernandez's throwing error.
Ramirez got a huge jump and almost reached third base before Loewen released the ball, but Hernandez fired from his knees and nearly wiped out the third base coach. It was a poor decision that he regretted immediately.
Brian Roberts walked and stole second. The tying run is halfway around with no outs.

Comments
Considering this is the first live game action Adam has had since the first of May last year I think he gets a pass on the first inning. And he's still doing better than the pitcher for Florida who hasn't retired anyone yet!

I think I accurately predict this team and their erratic and subpar play because, as all of us has grown accustomed to, this team is mediocre. They can't play with the best players in the world. All Loewen needs is 2 BBs in the 2nd and I win haha. It's so disheartening when you can predict your players stinkin it up. Ah well we have an entire spring to try and fix this crap for the 11th season.

Hey Roch, there is a rumor floating around Chicago that claims the Orioles are going to trade Brian Roberts and George Sherrill to the Cubs for a package of at least 4 players. Does this thing have any credibility? Sounds over the wall to me.

I never really liked Larussa that much and his latest comments re: the Spezio case re-inforced the feeling. Here's a guy who self-promoted himself, order pitchers to head hunt and now he critcizes a player for DUI yet he got convicted for the same thing. Clearly a double standard anyway-if it was Pujois instead of Spezio, the whole thing is thrown under the rug.
It will be interesting to see if the MLB players union challenges /grievesSpezio's release. On that subject, anyone know what happened to Sir Sidney's case?

MLB prohibits online streaming of their games. You must subscribe to their package to listen to games online.

ianz,
hfs can't stream Os games online b/c mlb.com has rights. so they mute it out.
but don't be disappointed ... mlb.com doesn't work either today and their incompetent tech people can't say why.

ianz - As was mentioned before, the game can't stream online cause of MLB rules (or whatever). Even though it's only a spring training game, you have to pay for the MLB package if you want to hear the live broadcast. This especially stinks since the "Live" boxscore online is about an inning (or more) behind.

ianz,
You have to pay mlb to listen online. WHFS cannot stream a game.

Thanks everyone for telling me about the O's game on the radio. I just turned it on at the very end of the 8th inning. So now Costanzo and Scott Moore are on base. It's now two outs and yes...Zach Dillon is up. This is the guy I think I'll root for this year. I'll keep tabs on him.....ouch he just got out. The game 16-3. Well at least I got to hear these guy were in the game. I look forward to tomorrow's game.
