Taking the points
Only the New England Patriots could make me sweat out a fourth quarter when I take their opponent, and 22 points, and they’re losing.
I wasn’t convinced that they’d fail to cover until the two-minute warning.
I’m 12-3 against the spread going into tonight. Special thanks to the Broncos (+1) for coughing up a 14-point lead and ruining my chance at a better week (OK, I’m greedy). But I also should give Gus Frerotte a nod for fumbling the snap on fourth-and-goal from the 1 at the end of the game, which allowed my Seahawks (-3) to cover.
Count me among the minority when it comes to Chad Johnson’s penalty yesterday for excessive celebration. I saw nothing wrong with it – and everything that’s wrong with the joyless NFL. He wasn’t taunting another player. There wasn’t a Titan anywhere near him (Trust me, I know. I took the Titans and they never showed up). His "celebration" lasted about five seconds and was harmless.
It’s OK to dunk the ball over the crossbar or have five guys leap into the air at the same time to bump torsos, but Johnson can’t swivel a television camera? Ridiculous.
And I’m not even a Chad Johnson fan. I just thought 15 yards was "excessive."
I always know it’s Sunday without checking the calendar because, somewhere, a Ravens quarterback is fumbling the ball.
Redskins tight end Chris Cooley might be the most underrated player in the league. Nobody talks about this guy and he catches everything.
I think he even intercepted one of Eli Manning’s passes yesterday. Weird.
I vow to have something to report on the Orioles today. I’m not sure exactly what, but it will be something. I’m working the phones. I'm also offering bribes.

Thats why they play the games Roch. An entertaining Eagles games though.

Who would the Ravens put on the "hands team"?
We should assign one coach to yell at the QB when someone is rushing from the blindside. How many fumbles have you seen coming for about 4 seeconds before they occur?
Ryan, Brohm, Woodson, or Henne with the first pick?
To "overhaul" an organization such as the Orioles, wouldn't it make sense to change some of the people who actually take part in the games. I guess we will label MacPhail patient if he ends this offseason with some key deals or inactive if nothing changes. Wow--if we go into the season as currently constructed I will be incredibly confused.
Also, I totally agree with Jeff's point about the O's franchise being consumed with petty details and not looking at big picture items. The scoreboard debachle is a nice example. Debating MLB about the Nats instead of focusing on the on-the-field product could be another. Anyway, this is quite a tough stretch for the Baltimore sports fan. Hang tough folks! Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone!

You mean a Redskin QB fumbling Roch.... our man Campbell, VASTLY overrated by the way, either fumbles at the mere touch of an opponent, or somehow fails to see a DB directly in front of a receiver. I think the man might be colorblind. That can be the only explanation. Now I know how you ravens people felt suffering through Boller when he was considered the "answer". Campbell will continue to get a pass in DC. They will blame everyone else & look away from the fact he is another 1st round bust like the last 2 before him.

HEADLINE:
NEWEST ORIOLE FAILS TO EMBARRASS HIS TEAM
AP Ft. Lauderdale:
In a shocking break from recent trends new Orioles Bench Coach Dave Jauss appeared on MLB.COM today and manged to offend and embarrass absolutely no one. Jauss, who spent the past two seasons as bench coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers, apparently sounded both intelligent and very enthusiastic about his new job. Orioles Executive Vice President In Charge of Nothing Mike Flannagan did seem a bit put off by the new hire however. "He meets with the press and he is totally, 110% boring. No nudity, no booze, no drugs, no wise cracks about wife beaters, and not even a little kissy kissy with his old team. What is wrong with this guy - Is he some kind of snob?" The Front Office was unavailable for an additional comment on this matter.

Don't have the NFL Network? Well, I found a site that at least will let you listen to the games for free. It has links to all the games streaming radio sites. Check it out his Thursday. No need to pay the NFL 9.95!

A train wreck near M&T stadium? Was Billick calling plays for the engineer? Quite the metaphor for the whole Ravens season, eh? I suggest a new phrase: Any quarterback who goes into a sudden, inexplicable decline (Grbac, McNair) has been "billicked"

This would be a good time to vent about the growing tendency of pundits, reporters, and commentators to spend so much time talking about how well a player is "developing" at the pro level (e.g., Jason Campbell), or as he is now known in DC, Mr. Clutch.
Crimeny!!! He's getting paid millions of dollars to play a sport! Why should everyone be so sympathetic to a player "developing"?? Shouldn't he be w-i-n-n-i-n-g? Fans pay to see teams win, not develop. Last I checked, there is no column in the standings for "Development Skills".
And the reporters who egg on coaches to explain a lack of production by talking about how well a guy is "developing" are pathetic. Where has true reporting gone? Most TV reporters are paid shills for the teams. Those guys/gals have NO accountability to the paying fans.
There...I said it...I'll take my meds now.
A for augghhh!!
