Minor stuff

The No. 1 cause of the marital problems between Hulk Hogan and his wife:

Refuses to take off championship belt during love making.

I’m sure all those Mr. T sleepovers didn’t help, either.

In my never-ending quest to provide Orioles news, I contacted David Stockstill, director of minor league operations. Stockstill spent the Thanksgiving holiday in the Dominican and has relocated to Curacao – perhaps in pursuit of the next Andruw Jones, since the Orioles have no interest in signing the real one.

This trip is more about the Orioles making their presence known, for young players to get acquainted with the organization, and for the organization to discover a hidden gem or two.

It shouldn’t be much longer before the Orioles introduce their new managers at Bowie and Aberdeen.

I asked Stockstill if the hires will be in-house or come from outside the organization, and he said it will be a “combination.” If one manager changes affiliates, someone else will be brought in to take his place. Stockstill said it’s all “moving smoothly.”

The club also is continuing negotiations with some six-year minor league free agents, but there’s nothing to report right now. I doubt they’ll go after Terry Tiffee again, but he’s out there. So is Raul Chavez.

Roch, props for milking the FO for anything they will give you. Every O's fan is squirming in their seat like a kid with ADD waiting for some shred of news. Good work getting even these tiny bits of news - it's been excrutiating.

Hey Florida, TRADE MIGUEL CABRERA ALREADY. Sheesh.

N is for News, Lack Thereof

Hmm. Valiant effort to drum up news Roch.

How about turning to some not-so-crucial-to-the-actual-game questions?

We all know there won't be the big uniform change that so many hope for, but is there anything that will be different about the '08 uniforms? Still no shoulder patch?

What is happening to the Orioles' DC store? The space is now advertised as the future home of a bank branch. Have the Orioles cut and run from Washington?

Which journalist cast that single vote for Jeremy Guthrie for ROY?

When will ARAMARK stop selling Yankees and Red Sox gear at the store *inside* of Camden Yards?

If I can think of other burning questions, I'll pass them along.

I go to the balt sun to see what my boys, the O's are doing, and the headlines read: Yankees, Twins discuss possible Santana deal.

This sucks!!!!
I'm bitter. Anybody else? I'll read the new york papers If I want to hear about them getting fat!

Has nothing to do with the O's but.....

I feel better about the Ravens after watching tonight's Dolphins/Steelers game. Dear Lord, I thought we were bad. Even though the game was scoreless until like the last two minutes it was fun to watch... sorry funny to watch. HAHA still laughing about it!

Come on Roch... we need more O's dirt. The lack of drama this past week has forced me to watch a Dolphins game. Can you just make something up, something we can all get in a fight about?

Roch - one of the ESPN desportes writers is saying that the O's are one of the frontrunner's in the Jose Guillen sweepstakes... this must be a rumor, and nothing more, right? There's no way the Orioles will be signing a (former) steroid-user with attitude problems to a multi year deal in the middle of the "rebuilding", is there?

Sounds like Orioles are in the Jose Guillen sweepstakes according to MLBTradeRumors http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/.
