Why isn't Bynum getting any starts at SS? He hustles on the basebaths, has good speed, a little pop in the bat here and there. He seems to play the game right. I would think he offers a little more than Gomez or Fahey...especially if our bullpen is going to give up 47 runs a game.

I suspect he lost that starting SS job when the reports came out that he got into it with the coaching staff verbally and physically. The press didn't report much on it because the coaches kept it under wraps, but my theory is that they called up Fahey because Bynum can't keep his cool.

CRB and Joe – Right on! The umpires absolutely stink but there is no reason why they should be allowed to ruin games and/or series.

The NFL gives their officials, fans and players the benefit of the instant replay. Even the totally corrupt NBA uses the instant replay to verify the last shot of the quarter.

Baseball, which is more often than not about as exciting as watching paint dry, wastes infinitely more time than either the NFL or the NBA. Tack on an additional zero-point-one-four percent down time and you could review every single significant play. Football has it right. Baseball has it wrong.

And why should there ever be an issue as to fair or foul. Tennis uses the computer. Baseball should also. Tennis has it right. Baseball has it wrong.

And, most of all, the computer should call all balls and strikes including check swings. Yes, we have the technology. We just don’t use it. We prefer to see disciplined hitters called out on third “strikes” thrown “just off the corner” (which can, in fact, be anywhere from one to about 18 inches away from what the rules say is a strike).

Oh yes, the rules. Well, who cares about that minor little detail. What’s important is that we continue the tradition even if that means the likes of Rich Garcia and Jeffrey Maier can become celebrated as heroes for unquestionably changing the outcome of an LCS game and perhaps an LCS series as well.

Meanwhile the same idiots who couldn’t possibly imagine a baseball game where a ball is a ball and a strike is a strike are standing in line to buy an iPhone.

If an inconsiderate fan and an incompetent umpire ever again conspire to turn a sure out into a game-winning homerun, they want to be sure they can see the instant replay before they leave the ballpark.

I thought it was common knowledge...
When you play against the Yankees you are facing 13 opponents (15 in post-season).
The toughest six outs in baseball is the bottom of the ninth at Yankee stadium.

WOW...Trash was terrible again. Not even 2 innings. How does he have a job??
