Cabrera's bringing the heat

Melvin Mora is a good player. He just doesn't always make good decisions.

That's as nicely as I can put it.

And he'd probably say the same about me. My friends and family certainly would.

Daniel Cabrera's velocity is outstanding so far. His fastball keeps hitting 96 mph. That wouldn't mean much if he wasn't throwing strikes, but he is so far.

He only threw seven pitches in the first inning.

Matt Wieters update: The Orioles haven't started negotiations with him. I just checked.

Dave Trembley had a unique fine system when he managed in the minors. If a player messed up, he'd owe Trembley a Diet Pepsi.

"It was usually a two-liter," Brandon Fahey said. "In his office, he had a refrigerator and it was full of them."

if trembley is going to give the guys green lights to guys on the bases, he also needs to give mejias the green light to tackle melvin mora at first!!!!! roch, was the millar steal a missed hit and run??? inquiring minds need to know..... why not hit and run with peyton up and mora on 1st????

It's always fun to be on this sight.....love it every day. Can we direct some thoughts and prayers to Coach Tom Treb., who is going thru a really difficult situation with his very sick wife. Hopefully, she will pull thru this.

Sorry folks, but what did Mora do? Some
of us have to work and did'nt see what he did. OOPS, guess I shouldn't be bloggiing!!
Roch I do appreciate your efforts in getting
words from the players, but leave Bedard
alone, he'll talk when he wants. Kinda
reminds me of my 9, 6 and 4 year old bothering my 9 month old.....poor kid!!

I've been saying it all season, John Parrish is simply not reliable enough to be in a major league bullpen. If he doesn't throw strikes consistenly, he can't be brought into a game that is close. How many chances does he get to prove himself?

The question The Sun's website is what quality is most important in hiring a new manager for the Orioles. The option that is not presented, but should be is "someone who is capable of handling a bullpen and has demonstrated that in the past."

Okay, Walker and Bradford were not available tonight. Why is that the case? Last night we had a 4-0 lead going into the ninth and Trembley used Bradford. Why not pitch Wiliamson or Shuey to start the ninth and if they get in trouble bring Chris Ray in to close. Bradford would have been well rested for tonight in the eighth.

John Parrish just does not cut it. You can see he has no confidence in his ability to throw strikes. I would have removed him after he walked the first guy, certainly the second. He absolutely, as Palmer suggested, did not have it. It was so obvious. Take him out before he gives up any runs. Give Ray or maybe better yet Williamson a chance to get out of it.

Chris Ray just does not pitch well coming into the eighth. Why pitch Bradford and Walker on the same nights if not needed? After those two their aren't any comfortable options to pitch the eighth. Why were Hoey and Doyne shipped out so quickly?

It's just upsetting. Great comeback in the 7th by the Orioles and we hand it right back with questionable handling of the bullpen in the eighth.

By the way, the answer to the question is Davey Johnson.

Roch, you are so right on with Melvin Mora-a good player but not a smart player. That said I really like the guy.
