Suggs: Bengals "did us a favor" by winning

No Raven was especially happy about dropping a 17-14 decision to the AFC North rivals Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 11. But in retrospect, outside linebacker Terrell Suggs said the loss may have actually helped the Ravens.

"I think they probably did us a favor," he said. "They humbled us a little bit. We came off a disappointing loss [against the New England Patriots], and we thought we were going to bounce right back, and I think we kind of took the game for granted. But no, we don’t feel like we owe them. We just know that this is a division game, this is a very important game for all parties involved. We better play some good football or else [Cincinnati quarterback] Carson [Palmer] is going to have one of those types of days."

Ed suggs better start playing some football, because right now he is coming up really short on the investment the ravens made with him. He looks just like a average player out on the field. He doesn't have that explosive first step like he use to have and looks to be somewhat over weight.

Hey Blancione, I know you made a very good assesment with Suggs. But his first name is Terrell. I know...my hotdog has a first name, its OSCAR. The Ravens will play better here on out. They had to be placed on there hind parts to see there mistakes and short comings.

I agree he should start earning his money. He is second on the team in tackles but Jarret Jackson has twice as many sacks. It would be nice to see him man up and participate in the preseason one year too. I blame Billick for letting him get away with that crap.

Nice to see this kind of professional respect and sportsmanship. Humble is the right tone for the ravens right now. Unlike Scott and the Jets...

If tagging you with a 'L' is a favor, the Bengals will do another favor for you this weekend.

Okay Sizzle that sounds fine and everything but do Baltimore a favor and please sack Carson or pressure him. You haven't looked yourself in terms of a pass rush.

To James...now that's funny, even though you didn't mean it to be. Blancione neglected to put a comma after Ed...referring of course to Ed Lee.

James, I can't tell if you're joking or not, but blancione was addressing Edward Lee in his comment. I think he know's Sizzle's first name is not Ed.

Binturong Fan, I guess we'll see on Sunday.

I would agree that up to this point, it looks like we overpaid for Suggs.

Glad to do him the favor. We'll do him another this Sunday too.

I posted last week before the game that the Ravens would win. I also predicted that would propel the Ravens for the balance of the season and start the Broncos on a down turn. Mark my words.

I've never considered a whipping a "favor" so maybe they might owe the Bungals a favor back(?) I know how T is spinning this next game in his mind but nice try with us fans.Sunday will be a real test,no doubt about it.Can the secondary handle this set of recievers again or not?

You guys are missing the point. A star player just said the Ravens took a game for granted. This files in the face of Harbaugh's "one game at a time" mantra, along with all the freaking radio shows the players have. When are people going to wake up and realize that nothing has changed except for the fact that we finally -- FINALLY -- have a franchise QB. So all the crap we're fed (i.e. Play Like a Raven, Be the best Ravens we can be, etc.) sounds good because we have competency at the most important position in the sport. That's it. Nothing more.

the Bengals will be rested and healthy and ready to take it to you again!! You got the Big heads last weekend but the Bengals will, I promise, bring u back to reality! Again!!

Gee, I don't know there T-Sizz. You say, "we kind of took the [17-14 loss to the Bengals] for granted."

And now, that somehow did the team a favor. The only ingredient now needed is to "play some good football." And, I assume, not take the game for granted. Right?

It was nice of you to show up for the Denver game. Keep it up, buddy. In the meantime, it might be better not to say too much. And whatever you do say, let's not practice philosophy while doing it.

That loss has the Ravens a game behind Cincinnati and Pittsburgh in the division. The Ravens are a half-game behind Houston for the wild card spot.

And a few Bengal fans woke up from their slumber -- but not enough to sell the game out yet.
